Gives a good sense of what the cab does. I highly recommend checking out @JGR’s amps and pres. Dude knows his stuff! That Drake bass with the TV Jones Thunder’Blades was the closest thing I had to a Gibson kind of tone at the time. That was done about two years ago? Something like that. And they both work well together in a sentence!

TV Jones was making Lull's TBird pickups for a while, may still be. Thunderblades are their version of vintage TBird pickups...I think.

man, i love the Orange tone but i feel like there is no product that fits me.
- AD200B is my favorite, but honestly as an almost 100% club-gig guy and non-professional musician without roadies i don't want to carry around a 30kg tube amphead.
- OB1 is nice, but i find the overdrive section simply too hot, over 9 o'clock it seriously disturbs me.
- 4 Stroke.. i like this a lot too but the "compressor" knob bugs me as it gives volume and dirt at the same time inseparable.
and the Terror Bass that's not manufactured anymore and nearly impossible to find used one around here.
guess i stay at GK700 for a while.

Anybody know if a Fender style body, routed for T-Bird pick-ups, is available off the shelf somewhere? I checked ebuy and Warmouth but did not see anything....
Yeah the overdrive can get a bit extreme (almost synth like) but I find it can get me to think differently about what or how I am playing sometimes. I don't use it all of the time but being able to drop it in, in small doses, via the foot-switch is fun.
Not off the shelf, but Mike Lull, it'll cost.
True and Carlo as well! I just have parts and want to try build something. That said I am too lazy to go buy a router and to have to actually measure anything.....

That's the usual failure point when I play. I haven't found a talent pedal or cable to put into the signal chain that can overcome the initial software failure. Dammit.My signal chain...
Brain > fingers > strings > pickups > controls > output jack > shortest instrument cable that works > input jack > preamp/amp > output jack > shortest speaker cable that works > input jack > crossover > speakers > ears.
BTW - the weakest link in my chain is the brain/fingers link (garbage in, garbage out applies here).
You could just buy the Warmoth body without any pup routes or maybe with Jazz routs and have a local shop/friend with router skills and the right tools do it for you. Probably would cost about $100 to have it routed. I ended up doing that on a Warmoth build Jazz body that I wanted reverse Precision and Stingray pups put in. The trick is, if you buy a non pup routed body, not to forget that you still need to have the pup wire channels drilled.

Learning how to route your own work can be fun but it's not cheap and if you've never done it before it's not a cake walk, not to mention I'd consider my router one of the more dangerous power hand tools in my shop. With the right tools and practice you can get pretty good but you better expect to create a lot of scrap lumber and wood chips first.

In fact sometimes the front end of my signal chain automatically kicks into random thought generation and stops feeding a proper music signal to the next link in the chain. I find it's frequently triggered by shiny objects, fast cars, attractive women and .... dang, just forgot what what I was talking about.

Jazz pup routes just happen to be on the same centerlines as original TBird pup locations. With rings they're completely obliterated.
Here's the first one I did with my standard TBird pup template overlaid on the J body
Primed in white, you can see the shallower routes on top of the J routes
Finished, I've since done one other and 2 Squier Jag bodies. The single MM style (cheap) ones.
I'd just start out with a new or used Jazz and go from there. Cheaper than buying all the parts separately. Pup rings make a good router template.
