I just picked up the white classic pro this week and all I can say is Wow! I've been experimenting with tone and finger position since I don't use a pick. The best I've found is bridge full time full and the neck rolled of slightly.

There's only two of my five TBirds that are a must keep forever. My Gibson TB IV and my Epi Alpine White Classic Pro. My tuxedoed Goth with upgrades is third while my Studio V is losing favor and I'm thinking about testing the waters for a break even sale. I'm not sure how to classify the TV Silver since it's stored away. Lol

IThanks guys for all your input on the differences between the Pro IV and the Classic Pro IV. As I really like the time I have now, I think I will stay away from the Pro IV for a little while. If I find a classic Pro and the price is in the dirt, the gloves are off. So to speak.
I'm thinking about doing this mod to my Goth now that the classic pro has arrived. see if I can get a bit more from the stock setup.

This one's in the dirt price-wise but there are small cracks at the nut... Can't tell much from the pics to know how deep they go.

I think there was a posting on here a couple days back that he was looking for a Studio V. The way this thread has been growing it's probably 15 pages back now!

I've seen that one, thought about it but I would never be happy with it being busted up like that. Then I'd have to have it painted etc. I'm not sure it's worth it.
However I am eye balling this one. It'll probably get out of my "target" range though with 30 something bids and three more days.

With the spector you just got I'd say you have about 90% of the tone a pro iv would have, with better electronics, and premium pups. I'd say you aren't missing a lot.
I'd say get the classic, and only get the pro if you get the fiver. That would imo give you enough difference to justify it over the spector
Just an interesting observation...tuned to BEAD for some songs with the DR Legend flats and there really wasn't any noticeable flopping.
I knew they were crazy high tension, but its ridiculous. The B string on my old lakland 55-01 with low riders was nowhere near this tight at tune.

A few of our club members are already there. Andy and Scott were two I noticed right off the bat.
It goes in cycles as to what get poste the most: Firebirds or Thunderbirds. Right now it's big on Firebirds. I think you all know how we can change that
If no one else is inclined, I could start a group on there. There are specific pages for Gibson and Epi TBirds but we could start one dedicated to ALL Tbirds.
