So according to the venue's (for the 20th) web site, the bass amp they have is a Fender Rumble 200 bass amp. Anyone play through one of those? Hopefully it sounds good. I played there once a couple of years ago. Don't remember anything about the backline.

You’d be surprised by the volume the 200 can put out. And if you also have di, bob’s your uncle.
One thing to note about the rumbles, they are bass heavy, so when you’re eq’ing, don’t be afraid to cut the bass back below noon, maybe down to 10-11:00.

Thanks to you and @kat888 for your insights. "Stainless steel color" suggests that they are probably not as friendly to playing with a pick as they are with fingers (like the guy in video).

That's a good assumption. Alumitones and a pick wouldn't be so great for bass. For guitar, they work great with a pick.

That is my thought. I like 'em. They don't stick out in bad ways and they are far more straight forward to use than Schallers or Dunlaps.

This is the second edition of Bugera's Plexi clone. 150 watts (4 EL34s) Hand wired, master volume, cascading, and FX loop (power amp in), 16/8/4 ohm. Reviews and clips are great and it appears to be bulletproof. Compatible with 6L6 and 5881, etc

$399.00 delivered is awfully tempting. I've been keeping an eye on their stuff for a while. Never been a Traynor fan since a bad experience with a YBA 3 in the early 70s.

I’ve heard very few Traynor bass amps in my life, so I was diving into the unknown a bit here

The most realistic valve head on my radar was an Ampeg V4BRI and they are damned expensive here (three times what I paid for the YBA200). The amps which interest me most (apart from Traynor) are Marshall, Hiwatt/Sound City, and Sunns.

I couldn't afford a vintage Marshall or HiWatt even if one did come up. Orange are likewise expensive -- new or used. Ashdown don't really do it for me, Bassman 135s can be a bit hit and miss and I have never seen a Sunn amp in Australia. I'm quite relieved I didn't drop a ton of money on a V4B. Not saying they are bad, more like it might not have been a good fit for me.

After being burned by the PF500 I won't buy amps or cabs from abroad again. Pedals are different, they're small and tend not to blow up.

Flat pack basses from Swamp Ikea are fine to ship as well, as long as they have no rosewood parts.

If I ever come across the right Sunn or Sound City, I’ll be tempted. Personally, I like the yba 200 more than the V4BRI. I once had an Ashdown ABM 500 that was cool. Never heard a CTM. HiWatts and Marshall’s are priced beyond my comfort zone. Never heard an Orange I’d want for what I like.

Never had anything but negative experiences with the PF series Ampegs. Only the SVTII non pro is on my radar for Ampeg

I don’t blame you, especially a tube amp!
That was the nice thing about that V4B, it was 1-1/2 hours away, it was less than the head alone… and came with the rare MASSIVE 215 folded horn. The person that bought it, put the cab up for sale for nearly the same price.
Oh well, I have better things in my sights.

Yes, seems FMV amps are more my thing. Not having amp GAS really makes life more comfortable.

Absolutely GAS free atm. Had vicarious enjoyment from other people's vintage pro reports. Just waiting for the VPs to land although it may be faster to get something from Swamp Ikea.
