Ya I’ve had to quit GASsing cold turkey recently, I won’t have any income during school this upcoming semester :thumbsdown:

Edit: when I get GAS, it usually leads to purchase, so it’d be better if I stop the problem at the source

That’s such an awesome looking bass! I’d have considered had I not just snagged that 2002 Gibson. But then, I paid a lot less for the Gibson. Getting a II is something I’d love to have happen at some point though.

Haha! I got no axe to grind with the P bass folks. I still have one. Always gonna have at least one. Just too many folks in the Nashville Roots scene who play P’s with flats and dial the tone knob way back as if the only goal was to get through the gig unnoticed. I just don’t understand taking away all the personality of a bass. That’s the magic of a good T Bird. They’re nothing BUT personality. Not that I think I’m some sort of tastemaker in the Nashville indie music world, but I’ll bet a dollar I won’t be the only one playing a ‘Bird a year from now

EDIT!! Not implying I’m the only one Playing a ‘Bird, but I don’t know anyone in the Roots/Americana scene that plays one.

Doesn't really fit the image...yet. Wont be surprised if that changes. There aren't many of them in the rock n metal scene, either...yet. at least mine. :D

Pretty sure you need that MXR M85 Bass Distortion, or maybe the Blowtorch. :D

I've always blown Bugera off as "cheap crap" due to their price point, and the fact that the only times I've ever seen them in use, were when I was watching shows on the Disney channel with my kids (every fake music store or fake "live music" scenario, had Bugera amps in it). To see a man with your history and experience, show interest in one... makes my brain itch. Was I too hasty with my judgement? Hell yes I was. I judged them on their presentation and price. I'm not sayin' it's right... but it is common. Do you have experience with their products... or just interest in this one unit?

It's a consignment piece, but with as long as it's been for sale, I'm sure they'd be willing to extend an offer to the seller on your behalf. I've purchased like that with them before. I bet you could get it for $800 (a number which seems to work pretty well for you if memory serves;)). I checked it out a few moons ago. At that time, it was in pristine condition, but had a forward bow in the neck that made the action pretty unappealing... but the bow was even, and appeared easily correctable with the truss rod. Pete, one of the 2 owners of the shop, is a great neck & fret guy, but being a consignment piece... he couldn't touch it without the seller asking him to do so. That was many months ago. I'd like to think that's been rectified by now, but haven't been back to check. If you contact them I would encourage you to tell them that you have a friend in the area who's checked it out & told you about it, and ask them if that's been addressed & what the action is like now. Rainbow Music is among the last of a dying breed of stores. They're a small shop owned by Pete & John. Two straight shooters who'll look you square in the eye, doin' the best they can to compete with the internet and big-box stores & still keep the lights on. They won't hang crap on their walls, and they keep a nice clean shop. I'm happy to help you AND them out if I can (pics, hands-on opinions, or what have ya). They also have a pretty sweet deal on a GK 1001RB right now at $375.00:thumbsup:
