Remember the first generation Hyundais, total disasters. Asians work until they get it right. Combine that with some German engineering...

Everyone is wetting their pants over the VPs. A fake Marshall should be a suitable amp for it, no?

I joined Talk Bass when I was living and working in China. No one believed they could ever make anything of quality. When I moved back to the States and joined LBO the outright racist crap I read about Chinese stuff surprised me but only a little. Pretty funny how the tune has changed.

Hey, I'm just as prejudiced. My YBA 300 was a POC in the 70s. The "reissue" a few years ago was also one judging from what I've read. Why after four (5?) decades of manufacturing was the first gen YBA 200 so problematic?

Ampeg's PF500 fiasco has put me off the brand after owning around ten of their previous products. I don't blame the country of manufacture. I blame whoever owns the company for poor QC and design. And myself for trusting what used to be a brand that meant quality no matter what you thought of the sound.

So, yeah, Bugera. Why not?

Played NYE in a sad little throw-together combo, a fitting end to 2017, which went out in mourning and trouble. I'll spare details- but at least I took home some bread.

I played my Thunderdawg with the single Deep Sixx pup into my SWR mini-stack, used the VT pedal at the amp's input. I think I'm going to need to swap out that pup... sounded wiry, honky and snarly but with no appreciable bottom. Finally got some lows, but it was a battle not completely won.
Even thought of routing my Model One into the spot, but holding out so far.

Still a great player though!

A tad on the high side for price, plus shipping. There’s one I can try locally for about $900 before negotiations :)
Gonna see how my Reiner/yba works today before I even consider it. Thanks for looking out though!
