One more rehearsal with the yba 200. Loudish band, but not as loud as Prayer Flags by a long shot. See anything odd?
I could play at semi loud volume with the input gain OFF. Completely off. It just lacked presence. Is that a thing with these amps?
Reset my gain for the right amount of presence, backed the treble down and it sounded perfect...until the guitar player kicks in, then it gets lost in the mix a bit. Sounds big, but undefined. During breakdowns, when the guitar player backs out, it sounds glorious. Really love it. Once he’s back in I lose definition in a way I’m unfamiliar with. Just can’t get it to cut through. I’ll keep chipping away at it!

I did say I'd check it ... and you're correct, gain on 0 doesn't completely strangle the signal.

No! There’s no need for a second amp using a Strategy!!
…in an A/B situation… slaving out is a different story.

Actually these play really well. If you can find one local jump on it. You might be able to find one in Japan.

I had one of those a few years back, it was great on it's own here at the house - it just wasn't enough horses for a show, kind of wish I had kept it. Mike Lull lent me his HiWatt DR103 for a couple weeks and I really did love it, wish I could have bought it from him but, it was a bit pricey. Thus I tried the Traynor.
I'm not a very neck sensitive player. Fact is, I didn't notice any difference in width or thickness between the VP, my Goth or my anniversary bird. Reach to headstock yes, neck dimensions, not so much. Thats not to say there's no difference, but it just didn't jump out to me like it has to others. YMMV
