I'm always 100% amused by the people with 4x4 SUVs who think that because four wheel drive helps you go, it can also help you turn and stop. Every time we get a good snow and ice storm in Seattle, there's always a pile of four wheel drive vehicles at the bottom of hills because their drivers thought four wheel drive repeals basic physics.

Standard rule of thumb on snow and ice - rear wheel drive cars will end up in the ditch tail end first, front wheel drive cars will end up in the ditch nose first, and all wheel drive cars will end up in the ditch sideways. And always remember, all wheel drive cars only have an advantage when the gas pedal is being used, once that foot is lifted or the brake is applied the AWD car is no different than any other car on the road.

I may well decide to buy that Blue Floral Mr Fix found for me in the US. I am just waiting for a decision on an offer I have made on another bass (not a Tele) on eBay.
I do love the pink Paisleys though.

A/B/Y pedal and a second amp that sits well in the mix… problem solved

Funny, but for awhile I was toying with the idea of a gritty, lower wattage amp blended with a cleaner amp. But really, who wants to deal with that all the time? Really wish I didn’t hate dirt pedals so much :/

I did say I'd check it ... and you're correct, gain on 0 doesn't completely strangle the signal.

Mines fairly loud with the gain off...just loses precense

I had one of those a few years back, it was great on it's own here at the house - it just wasn't enough horses for a show, kind of wish I had kept it. Mike Lull lent me his HiWatt DR103 for a couple weeks and I really did love it, wish I could have bought it from him but, it was a bit pricey. Thus I tried the Traynor.

I might be fighting a losing battle with this amp, but I’m going to try a few more things first! It gets plenty loud, but the lows start getting mushy and that ain’t gonna get it for me. Might have to call my Mesa rep and bite the bullet on a Strategy. I think one of our members kinda like em, but I’m not sure

Precisely what happened to the fellow in the Range Rover I mentioned earlier- sideways into my Bull Bar.
He should have waited for me to come up the rise and get out of the vicinity.
In fact, he shouldn't have been there with his poor driving skills.

I didn't mention that to get to the place where my story occurred ie about 120 kilometres from the main track/ road up Cape York near the Claudie River on the eastern cape, it had taken me most of the day and I had not got above second gear at all. It was difficult going. Two big river crossings (the Wenlock and the Pascoe) that were only just possible. Many smaller creeks and endless mud.

Hex makes a Model T clone. So does Jessup, but I went with Hex instead because I think "Jessup" is a stupid sounding name for an amp company.

Personally I've never really liked anything with a clean blend. I tried blending a clean/dirty rig once, even, and I didn't like that, either.

Well, I think my board is now complete (for the moment). I’m quite pleased with my ikea stömp design, and everything fits, including my dinky new wireless.

When I bought my MIJ '51 RI at Tom Lee Music in Hong Kong in the early 00s, which was the first bass I bought in almost 30 years, there was a blue flower right next to it. I would have bought it for the contoured body but I didn't like the graphic.

I still have the '51. I agree, good player, which I rarely do.

No one here says, "the 1st of January, 20xx", we say, "January 1st, 20xx."

Also if you need to clarify the date by expressing the month spelled out, that speaks to the problem of not having a standard form.

The guy who made the CAD drawings at my work before me, who was an actual P. Eng., would always change up the way he wrote the dates on his drawings. “Jan/01/20xx”, “01/Jan/20xx”, “1/01/20xx”, “01/01/20xx”, I’ve seen them all. I think I even saw a “01/20xx/01” once!!!

Shoulda seen his drawings too, low detail, lines that don’t lineup. I had to redo a major part of the plant map because he drew a building 20 feet short, and baselined other buildings off of it!
Did I mention that he was an actual engineer, with his own stamp and ring? Oh I did? Well I’m mentioning it again! CERTIFIED ENGINEER!!!

He left to take another job just before I started, but I wonder how he’s doing there.
