Happily no. I think it's more than a bit excessive really and the folks that want to drink that kind of stuff should be able to at their own risk - But, we Sin Tax ciggies and alcohol lot too, so......It's also worth noting that it only applies to Seattle city limits (were Will (Gaolee) lives) not to the surrounding suburbs, I live in Des Moines, a bit south and far more affordable. Seattle itself is an expensive city to live in, but there are lots of folks working in the various tech companies located in South Lake Union area that enjoy very high paying jobs, Bellevue, and most of the entire East Side of Lake Washington is even more affluent......Bill Gates country, and a trip there generally involves braving some of the worst drivers anywhere!
Regardless, this is an expensive part of the country to live in, land and house values only go up, my parent's home sold for $24,000 in 1966, now worth over $560,000!
