Thunderbird Club

Morning all. I’m afraid that an ill child stopped me playing with the VP much last night when I got home, but here are my initial thoughts.
I love the feel of this bass. Even with the massive headstock it feels just as nicely balanced as the CP. The neck is comfortable in my hand as the deeper radius works well with my giant palms.
The sound is very different, but in a nice way. The 760s seem to give a lot more clarity on the higher notes without sacrificing bottom-end, and dialling out the bridge pickup gives a lovely bit of growl.
I’ll have an hour to myself on Saturday, when I intend to crank up the markbass and have a good play, but all in all so far i’m very happy with the new addition to my little aviary!

Has anyone run their Thunderbird through an Ampeg BA-210 combo amp? Bassist from another band is bringing his and is letting me use it.
What's your regular rig? Do you perceive the Ampeg B 210 to be better? If there is no front of house support I would find this amp under powered.

I don't have a regular rig for gigs. NYC is weird. You're often forced to use the house rig. Just curious if anyone's used one of these and how they are.

Been there. Going back in the spring to the Red Lion in the Village.
