I haven’t seen it. I’ve been endorsed by Jason Burns (owner of Blast Cult) for a very long time. He’s made my last 5-6 uprights. Best live upright out there, but yeah, he’s a strange dude and tends to disappear for periods of time. Haven’t heard from him in awhile, so I wouldn’t know what’s going on there

If you get a chance, check it out. It was pretty interesting and it sounds like you'd have some pertinate insight. Just what you said there dovetails into some of the posts.

Just read the entire thread. That’s sad to hear. Jason has had his ups and downs for sure. Back when they were King Doublebass, Jason’s business partner screwed him really bad. Though the company folded, Jason built a bunch of basses though his partner had stolen the money. Cost Jason around $40k just to do right by those people. He’s a good guy. Not sure what to say about his current situation

A tuner, the Crimson pre and a good DI would fit on a small board and make a really nice litlle fly rig - a pocket Acoustic 360.

Nashville is very hilly and we get iced over easily. Not too often, but when it happens, we get shut down

Drove through an amazing hockey rink called Tennessee back in the early 90’s. I had a FWD Jimmy and years of winter driving experience, the Tennesseans didn’t. It made for a really slow go on my way South.

Needs a few more stickers. Maybe.

Probably need a pic of the back. I’m guessing it has its fair share.

Back in Thunderbird Land, I keep thinking about having my Epi refinished in a nice glossy black. This is because 1. I'm not in love with the see through black lacquer/poly and 2. it is bad luck to dispose of your first Bird.

Problem is that a refin is seriously expensive, ie getting on for the price of a new bass.

Take off the hardware, mask anything you don't want painted, and take it to an auto body shop. That's what I should have done with the two bodies I just put poly on.

For what its worth, the Telebird is getting close to done as well. Speaking of twins. I'll see what the P-Bird does in a mix during tomorrow night's rehearsal.

2. Uh oh. I did not know it is bad luck to dispose of your first Bird!

Awhile back I bought an Epi Tbird, think it was maybe a 2008. It was a LE blue color, really pretty. But I just couldn't get comfy with it (slab body & neck dive.) I knew nothing at that time about moving the front strap button. So out of frustration, I gave up and sold it. But... I still had the Tbird bug bad. I decided to give it another shot and am so in love with the 2 I have now. But they are different from that first one in ways that I like (contoured body, strap button in back so no neck dive, plus I now have the Gibson buckers.)

And yes, I just wrote that story in my own defense to try to ward off any bad luck from breaking the rule!

YEAH! THAT'S the spirit! Think of it as trading your first 'bird, for your first pair of 'birds! Surely the Thundergods will view that in a positive light
