Anyone know where I can get some Deep Sixx pups for my project?

There is an eBay seller out of China that is always listing them for pretty cheap. No clue as to if they are legit or not but they look like the same thing and have the correct logo on them.

That's the only place I've seen them as well. I think it's about $50US shipped.

On another note, i have been planning to black burst my Epi Tbird Gothic... been working on an old bit of wood with poopie i had laying around.... quite happy, but not enough to commit to it! What dya recon? Its done with indian ink.

I took it all apart last night and resolder everything.Major pita but it appears to be working fine now.No more hsss.....with the di.Luckily the ground to the glued in post was still connected good.Also

Right, can someone please help me out with a simple rewiring queery please?

So my TBird gothic has a real spaghetti of wires inside... i would like to tidy it all up and change the pots and jack plug etc...

So looking on Emerson they have a J Bass Prewired kit that looks nice. Though i shall not be buying this, it is a really nicely done job (should be too for 60 dollars).

Why add the treble bleeds to the volume pots on a bass? I also currently wired up with a .1uf PIO cap. I want a doomy deep sound, but someone told me this was pointless. Opinions? Cheers

Thanx to Craig's List, I am now the proud owner of a WHITE Epi T-Bird Classic. In addition to my Vintage Sunburst Classic and Vintage Sunburst PRO.

They isolate the pickups from each other so you don't get a volume drop when they are both dimed, they shouldn't bleed treble where they're located.

BTW they are all 250k pots which is what Fender uses for their single coil pickups. Early Jazz basses used a 220k resistor on each stack pot.

Most TBirds use 500k for Volume and 250k for tone. I mainly use .047 caps but occaisonally use 1 meg

Thanks man. Your basses look fantastic also... great work. I was gonna do the 2 x 500 vol pots, with the 500k tone pot. The treble bleed kit will also be done then, as when they are all up I do get a drop. Thanks again for the sound advice...

Thanks for the compliment! Maybe consider a 250K tone pot. It seems to give a smoother transition from full high to full low, at least with the pickups I use.

I have Emerson kits in both my Fenders and they rip. No question.

Hi all! Back from vacation. I got to try out a 2015 bird for myself at the GC in Anaheim, and I really was "meh" on it. There's one setting that I like, which essentially is the quintessential T-bird tone, then 7 other settings that are not too different from one another, three of which are really "slappy". So, pretty not enthused with it, but it looks rad... and that price tag though... zoinks.
