Thunderbird Club

Great guy, pro player down in Florida. He frequents amps, basses, effects...basically all the forums. Also the main Ampeg apologist :)
Check out his post about using new strings before a job at The Villages. It's EPIC! No, really, it got pretty nuts.
No bass was ever located. I sorta kept my cool. The people working the counters were nice enough, it was the supervisor who kinda got me edgy. Quite mean. She came out and said, “the package can’t be retrieved for another 10-15 minutes and we’re already closed, so there’s nothing we can do today.” All I said was, “There’s plenty you CAN do for a package that was scheduled for delivery yesterday, there’s just nothing you WILL do. Huge difference.”
Oh man, this is like watching your favorite TV show and realizing that they're not going to wrap it up in time. It's going to be a two parter!!
The suspense is killing me! Killing me!!

Ha! It was scheduled for delivery yesterday, so I’m less than thrilled right now.
I saw Jimmy’s string thread...comedy gold

I’ve resorted to camping out and making a mild scene...just said “this was scheduled to be delivered yesterday. I have a hard time believing an attempt was made today and if it’s alright with y’all, I’ll just be here hanging around until it’s in my hands.” They close in 5 minutes, so we’ll see how sketchy things get after that
Get a sleeping bag!

I've seen the Fenderbird the Ox gave Leon and didn't know he may have given him multiple birds..

He didn't. My English GF in the mid 70s had worked for Island (LS's UK label) and was touring with them doing PR on that Who tour...she also toured with Free, Nazareth, Bob Marley, etc. and wrote for NME and MM. I met her in L.A. in '76 when she was going to acting school.

It's insured for the full amount. I'll call my local postmaster tomorrow and see if he can track it down. Sorry you're on a wild goose chase.

Two pages and already I'm losing the will to live.
