Is this an American thing? Perfect strangers coming up to you and talking about you 'tone' after a set -- without so much as an introduction?

I've had a few people offer me drugs, or a couple of rounds of horizontal folk dancing, or simply say 'you were great', but other than that you know we keep ourselves to ourselves.

Groupies come in all forms. or weirdos.

Both volumes are 500k signal is good on the v meter. The cap was bad and replaced both the cap(0.049 orange) and the tone pot for a 250. Kimda wondering if the Gibson pups take a different cap, and if so what value cap.

Cap value doesn't really matter but .047 is the pretty much the standard. 60's TBird II's use .022.

Start by trying each pup separately directly wired to a jack (hot and ground).

It's insured for the full amount. I'll call my local postmaster tomorrow and see if he can track it down. Sorry you're on a wild goose chase.

It ain’t on you, brother! Just incompetence on this end with the local P.O. They seem to have a fair idea where it is, they just weren’t inclined to make the effort to go get it

Not sure it’s an American thing, but yeah, it happens

I remember mine like it was yesterday :roflmao::rolleyes:

I'm remembering how it was to pee my pants.

To misquote Ian McShane in Deadwood, "Corksockers".

When that thread first started, I kept up for at least 10 pages... I don't know why or how I did, but I did.
I may have said something in there. I don't remember. Nobody ever says anything about the bass. I play with a guitarist who didn't realize I have three burst Gibson 'Birds that I rotate playing. They look and sound different to me. He's a musician, and a good one. But, even he didn't notice. Maybe it's the player. My brother says I sound the same even on drums. Go figure.

It's certainly happened, for me, it would be preferable to a lot of the post show offers I get. I.E. "you're sure cute, coulda used you in the penitentiary".

Not only is it the Bible, it's a particular version of the Bible.

I was once compared to Nic Cage. I believe the exact exchange was...

Her - "Did anyone tell you you look like a movie star?"
Me - "No, I don't believe so."
Her - "Have you ever seen Nic Cage? In Raising Arizona?"
Me - "Wait! I don't even have a mustache. And that's the last beer I'm buying you tonight."
