Yeah, I'm an older generation. Started taking guitar lessons at age 7 and was playing in a band pre Beatlemania, instrumentals in the vein of the Ventures, Surfaris, etc. The bands that did it for me were the AntiBeatles: Kinks, Yardbirds, Who, Animals, Stones, Troggs, Blues Project.

The Anti-Beatles stuff is what I relate to most. Stones, Faces (with Stewart and Wood), Then Bowie's Ziggy with Ronson on guitar. It all set me on the path to being a dirty rock hooligan. I have no complaints.

Oh, and I like the Pistols somewhat. Not the best band by any means but they opened the door for a lot of bands that may not been given a chance if punk hadn't come along.

Score today! Not a bass, but I got tickets for Paul Rodgers and Jeff Beck. You have to see all these guys before they die!

Last time I saw Jeff Beck was when he did the guitar heroes tour with Stevie Ray Vaughn. Who knew that was SRV's farewell tour...

As Jeff Beck gets older he looks more and more like Nigel Tufnel. Or is it the other way around?

I should have thought my quote through first, I forgot that Larry V happens to have musicaly talented youngsters. But they are a small percentage of the youth of today that truly appreciate and understand music. The world needs more of them before musicians become history like the dinosaurs.

It could be argued that the Sex Pistols were the greatest boy band fabrication of em all (or was it the Clash?), but Lydon appeared to know what was going on. They were interesting, original and made one iconic record before Lydon blew it to bits.

I was 16 when they came along, so I was all in with the early punk thing and they were a part of the zeitgeist. I don’t listen to them as much as I would a lot of other stuff from that era, but they were part of what I saw as an important time for me. Every generation should have that

Yeah normally it wouldn't be an issue. I'd tell her, she'd put up a little bit of a fight, and i'd by it. But Im retiring from the military in October so the money is a little bit of a stressor. Don't want to do anything crazy. I'll wait until I'm retired and have a steady income lined up, then BAM! New bass!

This was my introduction to Hardcore when I was 16, this changed everything. At 7:08 you hear a band members dad giving them shytt. Today these guy's are still going.
