The stock pickups are very deep with very stiff foam and they were as high up as they were ever going to get. The electronics have been swapped out, which means my Japanese Gibson (I'm still pinching myself) is now sporting a vintage repro 1966 (overwound) Thunderbird pickup. Not sure whether the trim ring is going on or not yet. The dead Rotos are gone, replaced with KS Bass Burners. The strings can settle in for a couple of days before final setting of bridge height and angle (the bridge is currently dead parallel to the body). Maybe in the future I'll get a Hipshot bridge ... don't know about that.

Again, congrats on the ‘Bird, she’s beautiful and congrats on getting her to your liking.

All the questions I may have had have been answered but one still exists...

How does the mod decide if the shoes get stored in the upright position or laid to their side?

That happened to me last week when everyone was excited about passing the Spector group. The post was displaying 3,000something for post numbers and I was wondering how you knew we had passed the others.

For anyone looking for a good deal on a White Gibson Thunderbird here is your chance. I haven't seen one at this price point in ages, if ever. Not affiliated with the seller but I want someone else to keep me from doing something I shouldn't. I am driving to LA next week and could stop in to grab this for myself. Save me!! Maybe @dukeorock should throw him an offer.

Nice price on that. Shipping is a bit much, I would try and negotiate that though in the case it's going to be a big box.

I just paid $99 to ship a normal sized bass last week (to be fair it would have been 88 without insurance). Shipping prices are up right now. This will be a longer box than normal and believe me, Fedex and UPS are happy to charge more for that.

Saw that and would love be to buy it! Not a great idea at the moment. Shipping price is up there too

I really do love the white. I dunno, not terribly practical at the moment. I bought 3 different ‘Birds in about a two month span and dropped a lot of dough to mod one of em.
