Thunderbird Club

The 386 area code listed is in northeast FL. Ya know, you could have shipped to your buddies house and have it wrapped as an Easter present or b'day, father's day?,you get the picture. 'Course one would never lie to customs.

It's not worth it. I have a Nexus card which makes it easy to cross, so I definitely never lie to those folks. Our gas prices are stupidly high here, so I save about $25 on a tank.

I'm close to the border near Point Roberts, (small bit of the US only accessible by land through Canada) - I see the same border folks all the time.

One of the Canadian guys is a bassist, so he's always asking me details about what I'm bringing in.
$500 is about the line where they make you go in and pay sales taxes.

I'll bet the seller would give you a receipt for $495+/-. I mean, there's almost always a way.;)

If it's a 'Bird, it could be shipped to Seattle. For the small price of letting me play it for a couple months, I would be more than happy to be the transshipment agent of a VP. I would even write out the receipt. Problems solved. I'll be waiting for delivery right by the door, starting now. :D

Such a deal!:smug:

Your generosity know no bounds!;)

It has become VERY clear to me from this forum that Gibson Thunderbirds are not just bass guitars, they are a
"State of Mind"...

I am SOOOOO glad I stumbled into it!!!!!!
Even more than a state of mind... it's a state of being:cool:

"That which is strictly forbidden, is now mandatory"

Prepare to be assimilated...

An old band I was in a very long time ago, Altar Boys are recording a record from the demos we did 25 years ago. Been a blast going down memory lane with these guys. They keep sending new tracks from SoCal and I overdub bass in my 'home studio' (living room). Used all 3 of my 'Birds, but I think the Cataldo NR41 is seeing the most action. I have flats on the '02 with Lollars, so it's seeing the least amount of play because of the style of the music. Just got sent a few mixes and it's pretty darn good!

You were in Altar Boys? Dang....saw them at my church (Skyline Wesleyan in Lemon Grove, CA) all the way back in High School...in the 80's. :)

Most bands I played in in the '80's and '90's were Christian bands. I was quite the zealot in those days :)
I gotta say, this new Altar Boys record sounds fantastic so far. The singers son is mixing and he's knocking it out of the park. He wasn't even born when we made the demos!
