Thunderbird Club

Guitar Center has some cheap Thunderbirds!
But they really need to learn how to use lighting for photography :banghead:

[edit] I'm stuttering, apparently. The last one is local. Hmmm... I don't need another 'Bird.... I don't need another 'Bird...

Somebody should jump on the '15 right away at that price.
Agreed! I'm lookin' at YOU @dukeorock ;)

Mark... you seem to enjoy the differences in the various 'birds. I think you would enjoy the variety inherent in the 2015's electronics (especially with the "single source" thing you've been workin' on)

I’d love to! Sadly, saving toward other studio related stuff at the moment and all 3 of my current ‘Birds are awfully nice. Pretty happy on the bass front :)

Yeah... I knew you'd say sup'm like that... and if it were any other model of 'bird, I wouldn't have even brought it up... but for who you are & what you do... I wouldn't be at all surprised if the 2015 wound up being your main bass. Certainly worth lookin' into...

This Bird was falsely advertised as a ‘76. RK called out GC on this. Their pricing is stupid.

He should offer them $800. They will take it, of course, because that's how it works with a duke o' frock offer.

Time to brush up on the songlist. Unlike Mark, a four hour show is a pretty big deal for me. That's on for this evening, and we have to move all the equipment this afternoon. Which means I better start making sure I remember everything.

Damn you!!!

We had to load the full rig into a private event at 11am today, though the gig isn’t until 8pm...lots of sitting around until then. Derby Day party for the rich folks :)

Damn you!!!

I know man... I know... but this isn't "just another Thunderbird" (as if there were such a thing), and this isn't random enabling. I could see this specific model being your Swiss Army bass. It was ONLY made in 2015, so it's a Limited Edition whos price tag has been doin' nuthin' but climb ever since it was revealed that the 2018 did not carry the same features. This is the cheapest one I've seen. Some people ask upwards of $2500 for this same model! At this price, you could easily sell it at a sizable profit should you not get on with it as I predict...

Just excited to hear that you picked up a 370, full stack?

A little closure? Yeah, that was way open ended. Glad to hear about you being in the coverband, and congrats on the new rig Rog.
Thanks, and thanks! Not a stack, just the head. Currently looking for a suitable cab, though the sealed 210 diy thing has been plenty sufficient for band rhrsl.

Ok, I’m going to have to confess, I don’t know what’s different about the 2015 :/

Very sorry to hear about that. The silver lining is that an open reduction is very stable and healing time is relatively short. Physio/occupational therapy starting around week 4-6 is very important to regaining full mobility.
The ended up screwing a plate to hold it as opposed to wires, so she will be out of plaster in 2 weeks instead of six. So bigger surgery now but a shorter healing time. We're home and she's in a lot of pain, poor thing

I hate to say this, but I'm thinking of selling off one of my two VPs (which is why I don't mind that the prices went up!). I just picked up a pair of Ovation Magnums, so I need room on the wall.

Weird thing is, one of my VPs has Thunderbuckers in it and one is stock. I may stick with the stock one, which surprises me. I will do a more detailed test with the same strings on both, but I may prefer the stock pickups. Weird, huh?
