It's a 1986, made in the Custom Shop, one of a small number produced that year. This one and the white TB II I posted last week would be considered quite rare. The headstock is large and the neck profile is that of a '76, which is likely what they used as a guideline, the tuners are an intermediate size in black. The strap pin location is also of note. The pickups are '76 guts in plastic covers and they have not been surrounded by resin as the first variants' of post '88 pickups were. So, it's a hybrid, a very interesting step from the old to the new.

Definitely cheaper but chrome works too. Why not a Tort pickguard?
