Thunderbird Club

First video uploaded from the ‘One Mic Series’ at Sun Sridios in Memphis. This one is a simple rockabilly tune with upright bass. As soon as they upload the song I used my ‘Bird on I’d be happy to share.

@dukeorock - I finally got a chance to listen to this - its Freaking Awesome!

The band sounds great, nice and tight with frills in all the right places. But that's just scratching the surface. I'd imagine the back story on the complexity of using a single mic to get a sound this incredibly balanced would make for an excellent foot liner or inside cover story. Instrument and amp placement, amplifier volumes and drummer touch must all be critical along with mic type in the room and sound shaping in the booth.

Sure I see a ton of talent in every member of that three piece band - a drummer with impeccable timing and touch, a monster guitarist with massive stage presence, and a bass player locking the drums and guitar together in a perfect groove. But the untold and unseen back story is the inspiration and talent that pulled it all together in a perfect production. The thought that went into equipment selected, the room placements, the sound shaping and any prep and practice it took to get it this good would all make for a really interesting read.

To me, this surpasses the initial cool factor of the MTV Unplugged series of concerts. Don't waste your time cutting a CD of these recordings. Put out a DVD of the series with options in the menu for the back story on the technical challenges of this type of recording method and a spotlight of each person in the band as well as the producer and sound man. I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

Great stuff mate

Who doesn't like low hanging fruit? :woot:
You know, cherries, blueberries..............

For some it might be fuzzy little apricots and big long bananas, or for others it might be warm Georgia peaches or their cousins, nice smooth nectarines. Bottom line is, all fresh fruit is good - you just have to find the types you like to eat most then indulge yourself. :smug:

The tone of this post makes me think of this fruit for some reason...
