Thunderbird Club

Not really. I don't get to use the 'Bird as often as I'd like so I'm happy to have it in my hands. The 5quier is sort of a toy after the 'Bird. And I'm already nuts.:smug:
I switch back and forth from 'Birds to the EB-2. That's the same scale change. Then to the upright, which is 42" and sometimes guitar, which is either 24-3/4" or 25-1/2" depending. That should cause even more mistakes than it does. Or at least that's the official story.

The trick is to be sure and choose clothing that properly accents the color of the bass you plan on playing that evening ( the result is a vicious circle of buying both Thunderbirds and clothes to match, good for you and the economy, your wallet, not so much!) and sally forth to the show!
I do end up wearing a lot of black so a nice brightly colored bass "pops" easily, and the blue hair is a nice compliment to the orange bass.
I should charge for this kind of fashion advice

I can picture it now - New York Times bestseller #1: Veronica's Tips for the Fashion Conscious Bass Player. Throw in a nod to polyester and I'm buying ten copies, all signed!

On a sad side note, my favorite polyester dealer, Leroy's Fine Menswear just off Second Avenue in the bottom of a parking garage, closed for good. Leroy passed away and left a huge hole in the Seattle fashion world.

The bridge cover on mine is a custom one made by a fellow in Texas, not stock for Lull. I really had to have one as that is where my hand lays. My VP will get one too.
Plus, if you have any sense of decency, you don't want a naked bridge hanging out there.

I talked to my luthier. He checked the damage on Day Glo, and said less than $100 to glue it back AND fix the finish. He's pretty certain when he's done, won't be able to tell it was hurt. So, if it does cost $100, that puts me having $840 in the bass. I'm very happy with that. The black one looks like it has the same issue, and it's the same seller I bought from. Somebody better snatch it up!! Misery loves company!!

I didn't see any issue, what is it?

HOLY CRAP! I hadda look up Morris dancing. Kinda wish I hadn't. I don't know which was worse, the bells or that ferkakte concertina.:confused:

Yeah, sorry. There probably should have been a warning...

Well yes, Morris dancers in full no 1 dress military uniform are a welcome sight in anyone’s back yard :)

I now have an interesting idea - stealth Morris dancers. Like a flash mob, but Morris dancers... Probably get outlawed within a year as a terrorist outfit.

Trying to sneak the bells in would be a challenge but at least the gunfire would drown them out.

It was damaged from Sweetwater, and the original buyer sent it back. It was dropped or something and the finish between the fretboard and neck is cracked.

On another note, the eBay seller I bought it from Jeff's Music Gear, is the Sweetwater consignment shop and liquidation outlet. I found that on a forum. I also called the number linked to Jeff's Music Gear, and it goes to Sweetwater sales.

The lefty may be a '92, ain't no Gibson.

Yeah, real nice but hes asking too much. Its an mid 90s tokai, very good bass. I believe i dropped gibson pups in and a kill switch. I sold it to get another gibson. Seller is a real flake though, u wouldnt deal with him, caused alot of grief over a messed up harshell that i threw in to be nice, not part of the deal then charged be back. Real clown that guy. Sweet bird though.

BOOOOOOOOOO!!! :spit:

That's some pretty under-handed B.S. right there! :rollno:

Dude, he charged it back but i had used the $ for the gibson so i was way negative. I tracked down his number and called hes like, its uselss to me without a case. I said a case wasn't even part of the deal and he says ill send it back. In the end i had to fork over $150 more for a case or loose the Gibson. Huge mess that took 2 weeks to resolve over this guy and his precious case that he didn't pay for. In the end, i filed a claim on damaged case, got $300 plus my old case back.
