Thunderbird Club

Hey, V, my cousin is in Seattle right now and she claims that today is her third day of absolutely perfect weather. I've seen the pics on Facebook and hope you've been able to find the time to enjoy some of that glorious weather as well.

This first pic is from her flight in on Sunday.

My next west coast trip has to include Seattle!

We had 4 perfect days vacationing in Oregon last week. Then 2 nice days, then 1 cold-ish day. Was a great time to be there.

She photoshopped those photos. It's never like that here. Really. Would I ever say anything that wasn't absolutely true?

Nice pics Larry, yes, pretty typical early Summer in Seattle the past few days, a little cloudy in the AM and pretty nice in the afternoon, about 70 and no humidity........I love it here!

If you have to live in the city, one on the coast helps if you ask me. I couldn't bare being away from the sea

I'm not a mariner of any kind but I love living near the ocean (Puget Sound).

After spending time with the Kellybird I found the stock pickups uninspiring so I ordered a Seymour Duncan SSB-4 for the neck position. I installed the pickup and immediately removed it, what a underpowered P.O.S. 3.7k they must be joking, what a waste of $65 bucks.
I dug around in my parts box and found a Artec from one of my Bach nonreverse Thunderbirds. I tossed that in for now and am pretty satisfied but I am thinking about putting a Model G under chrome in it or a Vintage Pro pickup if Epi starts selling them.

I just have the Jackson TBX, it has EMG's and some kind of pre amp, it's never going to sound like any passive 'Bird of course, but I really enjoy it because it has "that" active tone which I like for certain stages and conditions. Is the Kelly active or passive?

I eventually had to get a Subaru to go with the 'Birds. :roflmao: Still have the old blue one too.
