Found this story about an Epi 7enderBird conversion:

Dave Harrison Tribute Fenderbird Bass
I'm really sick of that story about the first FenderBird...this is NOT a Gibson body, it was made by Peter Cook.

A Javelin that hasn't rusted through? That is a rare find! I always thought those looked good. Just the AMC quality issues. I always thought the Gremlin with 4 on the floor and the 4.2L I6 was a fun drive, even if it was an ugly little car.
Not quite the Javelin, the AMX it's little 2 door brother. Been in California hence the no rust..

Anyone have thoughts on a Schecter Diamond series, neck through with EMGHZ pickups? Saw a used one. About 20 years old. It has been well played judging by the patina on the metal parts and the missing knob. But no obvious marks on the body or neck.

I have the Schecter Sixx which is a Diamond series and I was surprised how well made this thing is! It's heavy as fvc& but still nice. Frets job is fantastic! The body is more like a Gibson RD than a Bird tho. I always said I would only buy one of these Sixx models if it was really cheap, which it was so I bought it. If I found a good deal on the Ultra bass or the Simon Gallop model I would buy that as well. So long story short (too late), buy it if its a solid bass!

There's no wishing to liking Porsches. They rule!!!

Give me a Cayman S, anyday.
I like the older Porsches, my favourites would be the 2.4L 911T or the 2.7L 911SC, I never owned either which I have mixed feelings about; sad because I would of loved to have had one but also glad because I would have probably killed myself in one

Of the old low HP air cooled Porsche 911 cars, the one to get from a reliability standpoint is the 911SC. The engine is bullet proof. All air cooled (actually they're oil cooled as well) Porsche cars are now considered collector cars, with some like the 911SC or the less expensive 912E that are great appreciating daily drivers and others like the 356, 930 and 993 that are virtually investment grade.

I drove a 911SC years ago (I may have said this before ages ago) from Holyhead to Hull. We were going to an auction to buy a guillotine for cutting steel plate and my friend's old Datsun cherry (:roflmao:) failed it's MOT the day before so our friend loaned him his near new SC. David (my friend) couldn't even get it to move without stalling it so I got to drive :) We had a leisurely drive to Hull that took all morning only to find that the auction was in Gainsborough some 60 miles away and started in less than an hour. We high tailed it through town, over the Humber bridge and eventually opened her out through the back roads to Gainsborough, holy cow was that a car, it really responded well to being thrown around, I was very aware of backing off in a corner as per Porsche legend but under throttle she had at times some really controllable oversteer that was a lot of fun, for me, David was white as a sheet :roflmao:

It was after that that I decided I really had to have one and took off with the cash to get one and ended up with a Lotus Esprit :roflmao: Well I had to look before I committed to the Porsche and I fell in love with the Lotus, it was like a space ship compared to the flattened Beetle that was the Porsche of the day. Hindsight it was the right move for me at the time, the Lotus was a very different thing, it could go around corners like no other car, I couldn't get it anywhere near its grip limits, once ever I got it into a little oversteer on a relatively slow bend on a large enclosed area with a huge run off area
