I don't know that it is an after-market bridge. Perhaps trying to adjust intonation and string spacing in one elegant maneuver?
Funny it got by in that case. Hey, stupid stuff actually happens every day. Kinda fun to get a break from normal-and-expected from time to time!

How are you finding the Kent Armstrong? That's a blast from the past for me, I haven't heard of his pickups being used for ages, they were highly regarded a while ago
It’s been years since I played that bass with a band. As I remember, once the Chromes aged and lost their brightness, it was too dark sounding. I’m going to put on a set of roundwounds and try it out.
