All good points. I'm constantly drawn to the good "must have a story" looks of a nice relic job like that one has. Until that little logical voice in my head asks, "ok dumb schist, what wonderful story are you gonna tell people when they ask how long you've had it". Yep, blasphemous lie kinda sums it up I guess.Yup... that's right up my alley! I gotta have 2 pups, I don't care for their pickguard, and relic-ing is a blasphemous lie... but other than that... it's almost like I designed it myself
Other than that, and the lack of a mudbucker at the neck, and the pickguard shape, and a brand name that hasn't even been around long enough to have developed a legit relic finish on any of their models, and a price tag that puts it in custom build territory - I love it (not).
Hyping on Johnny Thunders.
I agree, buy a new bass and play your own marks into it.
That's the goal!
Unfortunately, I spread my playing time across so many different basses that none of them will ever get the legit playing wear that most relic jobs try to mimic. I could tolerate obtaining another players bass with lots of wear but it would have to be legit and not created in a shop. Of course, the back story on the wear would be about somebody else, but that's ok by me if it's a cool story.

The Lagavulin and Ardbeg catch my interest.

If a hospital smelled like that, i wouldn't be afraid of being taken care of there.

I'm holding some Macallen 12 year, that and Bowmore 12 are my faves, the latter def has the "medicine" smell -Love it!
It's the iodine. Having spent too much time hanging around in hospitals, I associate the smell with iodine based disinfectant. These days hospitals don't smell like that.
I see some favourites including Oban, Macallen, Glen Livet, and Talisker.
Ah, got it. I wouldn't have known that association.
Kathy is one of my faves. I know she kind of deprecates her bass playing, but I've always liked it. She plays a mean guitar, too. (Check out the Bluebonnets if you get a chance.)
