nope... just in the public conscious due to the fact that he locked horns with a lotta influential people & disappeared in '75. His body has never been found...

He was. As I understand it, he put a different pickup in a 1965 J-Bass and was going to change the strap buttons to strap locks. I don't know if he did that second change before he disappeared or not. Nobody knows if he just decided to take up guitar or if something else happened. Nobody seems to know what happened to his bass, either. There's a rumor he gave it to Jaco who then put a Warmouth neck on it, but that's just a rumor.
I can't speak to his character, but I'm guessing Hoffa woulda been a Thunderbird guy. Here he is delivering a message to Robert F. Kennedy during a Senate hearing:

I think it is pretty clear to all here that @theFixer is Jimmy Hoffa. He went into hiding in 1975 for fear of his life when his 'associates' found out that he had secretly started playing a Gibson.

I find these types of case fascinating, grim reality but it always makes me wonder. One from the UK that make me wonder is Myra Hindley, I always have it in the back of my mind that she was actually released from prison and didn't die in there after she showed genuine remorse for her crimes and became a reformed person.
