This is the right look!

Shape and color are perfect and don't detract from the other shapes and text on the headstock. Remember, once you get the tuners on and the nut placed and the strings wound up, that headstock is gonna look a lot more busy than it does now.

If you really want to class it up, use that shape but instead of black plastic laminate make the truss cover out of the same laminate wood you used for the headstock.

How about this, it is a distortion of the headstock with a rounded end (NO AHEMS!!)

Growing up on the left coast, I was unaware of the controversy around Teenage Head. I bought one of their records in a used shop and thought “This is cool - and Canadian!”
Great Flamin' Groovies record, "Teenage Head". Keith Richards stated plainly in an interview that he wished the Stones had done it.

A nice pineapple and maple syrup glaze on ham is always welcome at my dinner table. Actually I can't remember when I've ever had pineapple for desert. On this side of the pond it's mostly a breakfast or lunch thing along with watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries and blueberries in a fruit cup.

But on pizza? Gotta agree with most, it (along with spinach) just seems really out of place on a nice pie. I'll eat it but only because I'm not a picky eater (heck, I'll even eat anchovies on my pizza).
I love anchovies on pizza. And pineapple.

I like it. No ehems needed. Simple is better for that, and I wouldn't even use a laminated wood. That's a whole lot of work for not much gain. Plastic is fine, and would last a long time anyway. Plus, if the plastic has a similar sheen to the finished headstock, it will mostly disappear. Disappearing is what it should do best.

TBH... I'm not in love with this one, but I'm havin' a hard time comin' up with stuff I like better. I snatched these off the web, just for some ideas (obviously, the screw holes would hafta be adjusted in some cases).
