Thunderbird Club

The placement of the strap button on the non-existent upper horn is what was done for the Pro-V and Pro-IV. It isn't terrible. A little neck heavy, but really nothing to worry about. A strap with a little bit of grip fixes it. In my case, I just went with a soft strap that is very wide.

The strap-lock is DiMarzio from the looks. So what is the cool internet TLA for You Recall Incorrectly (YRI?) :D
It was close enough

Something like this?

That is a DiMarzio thing. I would put on Dunlops. Or, if you like Schaller, use those. With these DiMarzio straps, I can just imagine all kinds of bad things.

I have had 2 of those Dimarzio straps attached to Thunderbird's that I have purchased used. They are not a good fit for Tbirds at all IMHO. Very slick and will make anything neck dive. Plus you can't adjust them very low at all and the bass hangs at an uncomfortable spot for me. I would not use these straps at all.

That's a real and unbroken '76 in the hands of one of my Facebook friends. I don't know Jo yet but I'll be meeting and hearing her live today for the first time just a few miles from my home at The Bone Road Music Festival in Fenton, MI. She's the lead singer and bassist for her band, 86 Noodles. Should be fun!

Here's that tone we all know and love!

You can definitely hear the growl in there!! We play that song as well (Iggy and the Stooges "I wanna be your dog") but much further up the neck. You can't judge a band based on cell phone footage IMO. They are probably pretty good but cell phones make good bands sound like crap a lot of times.

Some thoughts on the new bird I'm building for myself, it will probably be having a Satinwood fretboard (think ancient maple with aged nitro for colour). I want a transparent red finish on the front but I've been thinking maybe I could veneer the fronts of the body in some fort of quilted Maple then rather than bind them I could blend them into the rounding over then do a candy apple over the sides and maybe the back but over gold not silver do it's a sort of candy apple burst. How does that sound? I'm actually having a lot of difficulty visualising it, I can usually see these things clearly

You and Rod Stewart. Never been a big fan of him but like his layout.

He’s really got some set up going.

I do like Rod Stewart, not that disco stuff he did but much anything else.

That train set of his is something else, apparently he takes all his tools on the road with him and sits in his hotel room/suite making buildings when he's not working or spending time with the family

Never thought I would see a water cooled Jug....Chrysler Hemi inverted V16 to boot..
RAAAD!!!
