Thunderbird Club

I do like Rod Stewart, not that disco stuff he did but much anything else.

That train set of his is something else, apparently he takes all his tools on the road with him and sits in his hotel room/suite making buildings when he's not working or spending time with the family
Model Railroader magazine has done a few feature articles on him and his layout. Yes, he takes his tools with him and works on things in his down time. Pretty cool.

I've only seen one photo of his layout, is that the right word? Incredible, if I was younger and had the room I would love to create something of that nature, I can't say "like that" because I couldn't

"Layout" is the correct term for one's model RR empire, however large or small. One of the channels on the local cable system runs a show called "Steel Wheels" which features mostly UK train shows and display(operating)layouts. British Rail(if that's the right name) equipment looks really odd to us, esp. steam engines. Over here, most of the piping, etc., is on the outside of the boiler, making it look very "busy", while UK steam looks sorta "naked" with "the works" concealed.

A little bit of what I'm working on, it's 1960's prototype flat car with end bulkheads, there's a few commercial parts for the brake system, the rest is structural styrene.

That is good work, really tidy

This is the Apollo launch pad I've been playing with over the winter, not in the same league but I enjoy it. The white base is just to stabilise the tower, it will come off eventually

I always liked him (I pretty much like anything Scottish, even hagis and Biffy Clyro). Disco Rod pretty much sucked though, except for his version of Forever Young.

In my flatbedding days(trucking), I did a delivery to Cape Canaveral right out to the active launch pad. I did have an escort and, after removing the chains and straps, was encouraged to stay in the truck.(I did)
