So here's a little something coming up for myself and the band:
We're traveling to Pt. Townsend, WA to play a smallish bar that has been rented out for the evening to celebrate someone's 50th B day. The PA will just handle the vocals and maybe the keys, the place isn't big so volume out of my amp isn't a problem, actually it's the reverse,, we'll probably need to be a bit quieter than what we're used to. So the question is, should I EQ differently for this? If so, give me some thoughts. I'm planning on taking my GK700RBII and a 4x10 and using the Greco Thunderbird II as the main bass wit the Epi VP along as the backup/detuned bass.
I'd rather hear from you guys than the Gen Pop so.................

I haven't been to the room, in pics it looks like you typical shoebox shaped room full of hard objects (except for the patrons) that's easy to be too loud in.

Like Jeff says, no telling what the room acoustics are. I played a place where I hadda face my cab to the wall behind me and turn waaaay down.
If you can, get the cab up off the floor/stage a bit, it'll give you cleaner, tighter, more control over the bass.

Does on it's wheels count or?
Also, with a fair amount of people, that'll help with any possible standing waves problems.
Which will help make it more of a dead sounding room, that could work very well to your advantage.

Further up is more beneficial. at least a foot.

Should I be boosting or cutting? Usually I have the bass at 11:00 and the lo mids at 1:30.

Ok, supporting it how?
Get as far in front as possible at sound check and try to hear what the crowd is gonna hear. It may not be what you like but sometimes ya gotta bite the bullet.
You're in the ballpark there. I'm not familiar with that cab, but my guess is start there, adjust to the room and crowd.
It'll also be that the high mids will help get you out of any trouble, and not to much treble.
I'm going to say as a starting point. Bass as you say, low mids right there as well, and easy on the high mids and treble. It's the low mids i think you'll have to listen for. If you start to get any boom, cut them just a tad along with a little cut in bass.
Once again, i'm just guessing here.
If the wheels are removable. Then set the cab on some sort of crate or wooden box.
You may not have to remove the wheels depending on what you can put it on.
V, how do you usually have the boost set?
