I don't have any history with your amp/cab combo or that particular venue, but if I needed a good starting point I'd reach out to Talkbass Member @tombowlus
He has about the broadest amplification equipment experience that I've run across and may have some good insight for you. Looks like a very challenging venue to say the least.
Yep, that's the powerhouse ph1000 weighing in at a paltry 137#
It was listed as a Titan 1200.
The current lineup name for the cab is PH 1000. It's prolly changed just to confuse us.<EDIT> Went back to the Mesa site-Titan 1200 is the head @ 1200W
dunno, I think it looks like a great venue, low ceiling, wooden floor and not much glass (windows etc.)..
I would rest the cab on the floor, run the bass at 9 1/2, low mids at 2, hi mids at 12 and treble at 10. I would go with your 76 Bird with the not so "in your face pups" so the center point of your dynamic range is lowered and more tame...then just adjust to the room by way of the volume and or the bass knob..

And one of the worst cabs Mesa ever made. Looks like a cool idea but really isn’t
Especially if yer a roadie.
I used to roadie and run sound for friends. They had P/A cabs that weighed between 125 and 150 lbs. Plus amps, keys, a big box o' snakes, etc. Short tours (3-4 days) but still a workout! Then again, we had a lot of fun.

Been working on my solo bass stuff. Got a new sampler called the Elektron Octatrack MK2, which allows for live looping, among many other things. Horrific learning curve! Seriously difficult machine to master. I’m about 10 days in with mine and did this live looping jam. Every sound is me playing either my Gibson T Bird or my Gretsch SpectraSonic bass. Maybe David Lynch is looking for new, off the wall music?
I would imagine they would sound better if you had 2 and stacked them on their sides, creating 2 vertical rows of 4x10, with a 2x15 row in between. Their 8x10 absolutely slays btw.
Seems to me that the lows you often cut in your amp's eq, because you're going to foh and want to avoid stage-borne mud in the mix, are less of an issue now. You might want to take a little more liberty with your amp sound, just because now it's all you!
Now it's like those house parties you might have started out with... roots!
I brought my bird to practice last night and it sounded amazing. My new favorite bass. So happy. Can’t believe I literally owned it more than a year before getting it repaired. On cloud 9 now though. I FINALLY GET IT!
I need to stop ‘liking’ ever other post, this way it’s more meaningful when I ‘like’ a post like that!
