Thunderbird Club

So much awesomeness in one book! Oh and I forgot about the Les Paul bass, gotta get one of those too! Bowing before my Queen now.....

That book is by a club member and TBer, truly a labor of love and a "must have" for those of us that love Gibson Basses.

I'm certain you'll enjoy it Todd.

Thought you had it. Is there a new edition out?

I do have a copy of it, one of my basses has a tiny picture in it, also 5-6 of the basses in the book were ones I bought here in the States and sent to Uwe Hornung in Frankfurt, Germany.

He will need to collect a few more now that the current EB has gone through a few iterations, etc. I'm hoping the newly de-Henry-fied Gibson rediscovers bass guitars, and maybe even bass fiddles in the future. Then Uwe will have even more to collect and there will be more for the rest of us to have pleasant dreams about.

I don't like it-and can't do it due to a bone spur on the side of my right thumb, which I can't see having surgery on to do something I don't have any interest in doing. Or something like that.o_O
Maybe that spur would sound good when popping! :D:D
Joking aside, in the Bay Area, unless you are playing with an Original or Tribute band, no slap = no work:rollno:

Thought this was interesting that zZounds's ad people chose to put the Thunderbird in their Facebook advertisement.

Nice!

I love TI Super Alloy's on my '64. Every time I play it out I keep thinking about how incredible it sounds. I really enjoy hearing that bass. A lot. So, I just put some GHS Pressurewounds on my '76/77 Bird. I think this is going to be a good match. I love the feel and play-ability more than before. I had TI flats on it as was happy, but the last time I played it out a week or so ago I wanted more of the magic I get from the '64. With the PWs having the same Alloy 52 I'm thinking it might be a match made in sonic heaven. We'll see in a week or so, but sure sounds good at home.

The popping would be droned out by my screams of pain. I can just see the big band leader going ape doo-doo if I did pop.
