Thunderbird Club

Very much doubt that would be attractive to anything other than going to a drive-in. (do they even still have drive ins?)
There's at least one in my area(S.E. FL). They do a swap shop/flea market thing on the weekends in the daytime, movies at night. IDK how many nights it's open.

There were a couple in the Bay Area and one did the flea-market routine but they are both gone now. Mostly a thing of the past I feel.

David Hood, bass player with Memphis studio band The Swampers played with pretty high action. You can hear the results on tunes by Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, and a host of other recording artists your parents or grandparents boogied on down to...

David was at Muscle Shoals. Cofounder in fact. You might be thinking of Duck Dunn.

Got an Arctic White classic pro yesterday. I honestly have to say I love this color. Bass just spoke to me, so had to have it.

You're missing the Classic Pro IV which is basically a "budget" version of the true gibson thunderbird (post-88).

If you want the vintage look, tone & feel: Vintage Pro IV
If you want a a closer reproduction to the Gibson Thunderbird: Classic Pro IV
IF you want a modern sound, with a little bit more control in your bite: Active Pro IV
Budget vintage: Alpine white, tv silver, silverburst. All bolt on construction
Budget modern: Epi Tbird IV.

Thanks a lot. Very clarifying reply. Incredibly, a nice used (almost new) ebony Vintage Pro has poped up in a spanish guitar forum along with the Classic Pro (sunburst) I had already saw. I hope I could get it.

Ok @Chucky Stiletti

First a definition. A Ute is car based, with the tray section of a piece with the body. A hardtop covers the Coupe part. There were earlier Roadster Utilities.

2010 Pontiac G8 ST “Sport Truck” never released. Based on the VE series Holden Ute SS. Nose styling and steering wheel location  the main differences.

A non Ute I thought you may like. A 37 Chev Coupe colloquially called a Sloper. Fastback styling with a fold down rear seat. A hatchback in all except the actual hatch. :D
My Grandfather had a 36. I’ve only seen a photo of it. My Dad got annoyed if I called it a Sloper, “it’s a Coupe”.
Australia only, Holden built Chev, Pontiac, Olds & Vauxhall versions.

Pre merger that formed GM-H in the 30s Holden built bodies for many brands. Rugby (I think you called them Star?) and also Chrysler. The story is that Holden produced an all steel turret (roof) Chrysler before the US.

With Michigan being car-centric, we still have a number of drive-ins still operating. The Ford-Wyoming being the most famous I'd say and the US23 being the closest to me geographically since moving to Genesee County. I've only ever been to the F-W and that was when I was in High School. I really should load up the kids that aren't really kids anymore and we should do a family drive-in night just for the nostalgia of it and the experience for them.

So, I googled the one I mentioned(Lake Worth Drive In/ Flea Market). Still open, showing "The Grinch" tonight. Even in our heat and humidity people still go. Who'da thunk it? So, while I was a-googling, I checked on the one in Ft. Lauderdale. Still open as the Swap Shop/Drive-In. It's name is.......... THUNDERBIRD (pic of a pic)
