Thunderbird Club

Should find something cool to do with that hole.

Rough ahem
Some of those Dead Boys songs (Sonic Reducer, Ain't It Fun, What Love Is...) were Rocket from the Tombs songs. RFTT split off into Dead Boys and Pere Ubu. Ain't It Fun was written by Peter Laughner.

RFTT: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

The recordings I'd most recommend are Day the Earth Met and When It's Too Late To Die Young. Cheetah sings Ain't It Fun and Amphetamine on the latter.

Peter Laughner:

That explains it. I actually double checked that it was the dead boys...not very well obviously.... I knew I remembered something about Rftt. Now I know. I’ll check those out

No worries, all good we're cool. Just nobody ever mention Dave Matthews. Uh, yeah. I said that.

And i Love, Mountain!!!!
Dave Matthews lives somewhere within about 15 blocks of me. I wouldn't know him from Adam. I probably pass him in the supermarket off and on, and still don't know who he is. His drummer is a beast, though, whether you like what they do or not.

Agreed on that one. And, small world, he lives close to you.

As of this afternoon I have joined the Thunderbird fold.
My first Thunderbird - My first Epiphone actually, and it's a beauty. Not a mark on it and plays really well.
I am staggered how well this plays seated. Forearm nestled into the upper bout as natural as. Not a hint of neck dive or even a heavy feel.
I just need to work out weather to keep it and add a Babicz bridge and a bit of pot tweeking, or to start looking for a Pro.

The answer is both, of course. You have a beautiful flock!

Welcome! Nice collection! Those Washburn Status style basses sound and play REALLY good..

I know I know. I can’t help it. The will to apathy drives me crazy. I’m obsessive about things as is anyone whose every changed anything. I can be lazy and not get around to fixing things but I’d never argue that it doesn’t make a difference. Go tell that to PRS or Fender or Gibson.

He does kind of sound like a cult leader for global guitar tone fanatics but come on he has some credibility.... even though it will never see the light of day. Lol

I could simplify my point for sure. You can argue with PRS if you like but he makes one of the greatest guitars in the world and it’s sure not because he thinks that vinyl tape nut slot shims don’t make a negative difference. Everything makes a difference. I understand bass strings have more mass and minimize the impact of such impedance to tone.

~Inserts face at you too.~ lol

My BS detector automatically turns on when I hear someone say there’s a document with “the truth”, but we can’t see it.
That said, the PRS guitars I’ve seen up close/played have all been great instruments - no doubt about it!

always wondered where BaCh got their headstock dimensions...
