Since it isn't real chrome, perhaps it is Cheetah Chrome?

Aint it fun....awes9me song

Sonic reducer pretty good too.

My little oldies/punk band did Sonic Reducer. Fun tune.

Dead Boys and Sonic Reducer = good fun in my book. It was weird when a phone company (T-Mobile I think) used Sonic Reducer in a commercial several years ago.

Mountain is still my jam. There is nothing else quite like the Road Goes Ever On version of Nantucket Sleighride (tho i love all the versions!)
Met Leslie at a NAMM show. Cool guy.
I saw Mountain in concert(double bill with Jethro Tull)in Miami in 70(?). A 'rent-an-usher' started to give West a ration of 'spit':smug:. West whipped off his guitar and was about to jump off stage. The 'rent-an- usher' ran like crazy for the exit. The crowd laughed their @$$es off! Great entertainment! In that same show, while Tull was on, Ian Anderson introduced their piano man and announced he was gonna be featured on the next song. As the pianist was playing a long solo, Anderson was standing alone in a long coat, holding his flute. The spotlight operator had the follow spot on him(Anderson). When he realized the spot was on him, Anderson says"Hey! The effing piano player is over there" pointing. The spot moved very quickly. More laughter!

Another great band I didn’t get to see. Glad you did

Howdy fellow birdwatchers, I wanted to waste a couple minutes of y'all's time to speak of a mod that I firmly believe is the second best thing I've ever done. I have a 2014 'Bird, just the cheapest model. Never been 100% sure what that model is called, so maybe someone can enlighten me. After about 8 or so months with my bird, I noticed the neck pickup was in the way of my fingers. The logical choice was to remove it and the corresponding volume pot, so this is what I did. However, after about 3 months of the bridge pickup being soloed, I got sick of that tone. It was too much. I needed it to mellow a bit, to calm down, take a chill pill, something like that. So what I did is I took the old neck pickup and put it in the bridge spot. Holy crap y'all. The tone is monstrous. It's not really at all what I was going for, but it is what I didn't know I wanted. It's just about the growliest bass I've ever encountered now. I might do some sound clips for this, but my best recording equipment is a laptop mic so that probably won't catch all the sound. Basically, if you got a Bird lying around and you want to change things up, definitely try this. Here's my baby.

If it’s the one with a bolt on neck, it’s a Thunderbird IV.
Gotta like monstrous tone! The vacant hole would bug me.

The vacant hole bothers me a good bit, but I'm planning to fill it when I refinish the bass. Not a sunburst guy, def should have gone for the white. However, not liking the current color does give me a chance to fix it...

Cool info!
I'd love to hear how it sounds.

:cool:I've noticed! Good luck with that.

Lol. I’m glad the tape is working for you. Ignore the rest of this.

I had always wanted to just be simple a travel and not take anything too seriously...well I found out a thing or two.

Just imagine that if, in the process of design, similar attitudes of apathy were taken as standard, throughout human history, we’d never have come this far.

Without discussion, debate and even arguementitive people we’d be nowhere, probably wiped off the earth in self satisfied comfort with the status quo... what got us here won’t get us there... survival requires continual progress.

Not a political problem but a fundamental problem of humanity...

As a nation we can only ever be as “good natured” (or relaxed) as the worst nation on earth... because we always have to be just as capable of offending, as the most offensive nation on earth... so that we are never the subjects of a foreign power that might wish to exploit our desire and/or will to be good natured... as an individual the same is almost as true.

It’s a sad fact of humanity.

That every nation must be capable of crimes against humanity so that they are never the victims of crimes against humanity.

How did I get all this from a discussion about fixing a nut? The core attitudes of indifference and inaccuracy... leads to all the problems of the world. Lol.

So let’s replace those nuts instead of half a$$ing it... lolololololol GBassNorth you’re going to lead us to the apocalypse.... don’t do it man.

You’re not wasting anyone’s time. This is the most on topic post in a while. Really cool idea. Should find something cool to do with that hole.
