I get the eye-roll on occasion, but that's about it. She knows what I'm up to, and knows I won't spend the rent money on whatever the latest expensive enthusiasm is. Lately, I have been traveling so much for work that I don't have time to blow money on whatever oddball idea that I scrounged up from somewhere or another. I have a 360 fuzz pedal kit to solder up waiting on what passes for a workbench for whenever I get around to it. That was pretty cheap, as expensive enthusiasms go.

I'm just gonna stick to, i only answer to myself, and that's a struggle in itself.

I have a few nice 70s era Rokkor lenses. Any idea if they’ll work with the Sony bodies? I’ve been out of the photog loop for a couple of decades...

Sony DSLRs use Minolta mount lenses. At least the early Sonys do.

I am sure tongue planted firmly in cheek. In a stable marriage, you would ask and the answer would be go ahead if it makes you happy (possibly/probably with conditions related to financial, space, and other considerations)....

Actually, with the exception of undue stress induced to my wife on a daily basis by having my 95 year old mother living with us, it's a pretty stable marriage. Wifey knows I'm not gonna break the budget with my bass purchases. I'm more limited by available space, which I'm nearly out of.

If I came home with a $6000 Alembic or vintage NR TBird it might raise an eyebrow. But To put things in perspective, she's the one that brought to my attention that Christys is having an auction this spring featuring a bunch of David Gilmore's guitars and gear. She's already set up a budget for it in case I see anything I want to bid on.

Like I said, the second wife (I call her "my current wife" just to get a rise out of her) was a significant upgrade over the previous model. The first one was defective, and a maintenance nightmare that I was glad to trade in on a better model.

My wife was an OT in a nursing home and she would tell me the "jokes" that the seniors would tell her from time to time.

Two that come to mind marriage related:

Are you happy or are you married?

and

My wife and I have had only one argument in all the years we're married... it started in 1955 and it's still going.

Not really jokes, but the old timers thought they were clever to the young lady attending to their ailment.

I worked in Miami Beach behind Jewish comics for many years.

Yeah, many drummers have trouble with time...

This. We brought in a time keeper and our drummer was not happy. I was like ‘join the friggin club.’

And he has to sometimes listen to how a song starts before we play. Songs we’ve been playing for months.
