Thunderbird Club

Full day today, good and bad. Spent most of the day doing rough mixes for the Mike Lynch tracks I recorded Sunday and Monday. The Glyn Johns drum mic techniques plus a snare mic is a really beatiful thing.

Went to my weekly gig with Derek Hoke. Someone told me Rob Crowell has left something for me to look at. Rob Crowell is a remarkable musician who plays, sax, keyboards, bass and drums at the highest level. He does stadium gigs on every instrument. Dude’s a freak of nature. What he left for me to try out was a Greco T Bird. He knows we both love T Birds, but he has an odd fetish for Japanese knock offs and he wanted to see what I thought of Greco’s. I wound up playing it for my gig and it was absolutely fantastic! Huge sounding with a great bark in the mids. I’d buy one in a heartbeat knowing what I now know. He told me to hang onto it for a week...twist my arm :)
On a much sadder note, my dear friend, mentor and former bandmate, Rick Elias, passed away earlier this evening. Still attempting how to process such a loss. The world is a lot less interesting and cool right now.

dude, spent my early years in my birth town of Newport RI....ate so much lobster that I hated it...folks used lobsters as currency over there.."Fix my car for some lobsters?".....mind you, to this day most locals over there don't know what a W-2 is....:D..
They're also known as "bugs" by the fishermen and other locals. Lol.

I lived in the Bay Area late 90s into the 2000s. My favorite hands down!
Thanks Cataldo, that's a little too far to Lyft. We are in the Mission district of San Francisco, we are tied pretty tight to the Airbnb we are staying at, our son is recovering from surgery so no sight seeing for us.

Try Haight Ashbury Music Center, I just looked it up and it looks awesome. 1540 Haight St.
