I've been looking at the xvive. Little transmitter plugs into instrument, receiver plugs into amp(or board). Range about 100'(33m?). Since I'm never more than 8-10' from the amp I think that'd cover it.

Talked to the dept manager at my local L&M about those. He was of the opinion that they had unacceptable lag for guitar and that it was worse with bass. He suggested the new Boss one instead. I'm still thinking...

didn't know how to respond to that either....sometimes 40ft, sometimes 15ft, sometimes 30ft....whatever comes out of the bag first..

None of it really matters in the big scheme.......

I had a similar experience w/ another sales rep. Xvive $155, Boss $300+. Hmmm.....

That thing doesn’t look sturdy enough.

Most of the reviews I read were positive unless there was a lotta frequency related interference. AFA sturdy, I generally don't bash the jack area on the bass or the amp.

I considered those, but the mixed reviews led me to the Line6 G30s. I have two sets; one in the upstairs practice area and another downstairs. They’re pricier at $199 a set, but work really well. Only drawback is the chinchy battery door on the transmitter. Solved by using the Neotech medium size cases. If you get the xvive, let us know how they work. Disclaimer: I don’t play out (haven’t for years) and most likely won’t ‘til I can retire from the clampdown. I’m so looking forward to band drama.

So... anybody using a hipshot detuner on their t-bird? I’d like to add one at some point but I’m not sure Hipshot makes a direct replacement. If you use one, what one did you go with?

The XVive is C$199, the Boss is C$249. Not a big difference. Also opined that the Boss is better than the G10 C$269. And further - although he is a guitar player, he thinks the JC is a great bass and likes Thunderbirds, so he must know something...
