Here's a question Bird-herders ... what length of cable are you typically using? Wireless doesn't count.

12 ft homemade from guitar to board, 3 ft from board to DI. When I use an amp, 10 ft board to amp.

We can even do this in 'Merkin units.

That's a whole 'nother conversation.

That's the joy of wireless. Cable from the board that has the Broughton can be up to 20', but I have been set free from the tyranny or copper wire between the instrument and board. Which means I probably shouldn't have answered in the first place, but I used to use a 20' to 25' instrument cable right into the amp before discovering freedom.

What's your wireless rig? How do you like it?

I have a serious aversion to batteries. Wireless is unlikely to happen ever.

I've been looking at the xvive. Little transmitter plugs into instrument, receiver plugs into amp(or board). Range about 100'(33m?). Since I'm never more than 8-10' from the amp I think that'd cover it.

Agreed, the Greco T-IIs are excellent basses. And that bridge cover is odd, doesn't match with the holes on mine either, which matched the Gibson reproduction covers just fine. Best $650 I can remember spending in a long time.

I have a 20' cable from bass to pedalboard + 10' between board and amp. AFAIK the always on Broughton L/HPF functions as a buffer, which allows me to discount the shorter cable entirely.
