I was in a Goth band back in the old days. Sisters Of Mercy, Bauhaus, The Mission, and the Cure (to name a few) were on regular rotation in my house. I will still randomly listen to some of it today but The Cure gets the most attention from me, probably because I think of them as more than a Goth band, like Siouxsie and the Banshees they king of have their own niche.
unquestionably a better soundtrack than on any of John Wayne's westerns..
One guy I play with just traded in his Orange Tiny Terror for the next size up. I think it’s 30 watts. Sounds great, but no effects loop!
He plays it through a sealed Rivera 212 cab that is not light.

Been listening to a lot of Sisters and Mission lately. And - probably more post-punk than goth - discovered The Chameleons not too long ago. Fascinating music.

I was 16 in 1976, so getting into punk rock was a no brainer. As a musician, I was more interested in starting a post punk thing because of bands like Swell Maps, This Heat, The Pop Group, Killing Joke, Einsturzende Neubaten, Gang of Four, Wire and the NYC No Wave thing. It was such a great time to be a young musician.
It was a good time to be a musician, period. In my area(S.FL)they still paid live bands-not enough, but they paid. I had a part-time delivery job just for beer money, the 6 night a week gig paid all the bills. And I didn't hafta schlep gearSounds like it!

I played Bela Lugosi is Dead for my daughter the other day. She hated it. I like the long slow build in it.
That’s intense. Maybe something a little softer like The Hanging Garden...?
She likes Rush and Dream Theater; so comfortable with challenging listening. I think the issue for her is that it takes far too long getting somewhere. She would have trouble with a 1 minute introduction, let alone the long build of that one.
