Thunderbird Club

Ah. LBA said that it will work with any 9v power supply, as long as it can output at least 350mA of current. My Godlyke puts out at least 1000 I think.

Minimum 350mA. So running about 2mA at the plate for total dissipation (both sides) of 1W. Heaters would draw another Watt. Not shabby.

I once saw a small guitar combo amp (unbranded) that was running a pair of 12A?7s at the output section for total power of about 5W. Sounded terrible because of the terrible little speaker in it. With a decent speaker it probably could have sounded pretty good.

Self-proclaimed experts are one of the banes of existence. And some males are really, really good at it. :mad:

Well you know how it is. There were the Musos who hung around the Musos' Club and then there were upstarts. I recall I went into the Musos' Club once for some reason and you could have bottled the hostility. How dare a girl violate their sacred temple? Anyway ... there was a series of programs on the local AOR radio station (4XO) in which the presenter and various local 'experts' railed against these terrible young bands with their disgusting original songs -- how dare they presume to deviate from the standard repertoire, etc, etc, blah, blah, fvcketty blah... You know what they say about the last laugh? If there was a NZ 'Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame', I would be in it. Not seeking to big myself up here, merely extending a couple of post facto digits to those experts.

Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke? They are Yazoo. This is Yazz.

The Comsat Angels are the Comsat Angels.

Just saying, they were called Yaz here in the States, for some goofy reason. And I’m certain that Comsat Angels were made to release a record as CS Angels, for (I’m assuming) equally goofy reasons

A little hungover and strung out and mostly confused except when talking about music?

That should be me by the end of the night.

Playing a wedding in the redwoods today at this very cool place..

The wedding party is from Australia and they are a wedding (the odds) band (Evergreen Collective) as well.

The groom is the bass player so they are going to get up and do a few. Love when that happens. I even found a bass for him!:bassist::laugh:...

Hope it went well.

^ filmclip seems to show quite a large wedding ^

In St. Louis tonight. I love this city. Playing after the Cardinals game at Ballpark Village...which is about as rock and roll as the name suggests :)

Glaring view from the hotel room. Can’t see the arch. Someone’s getting fired

Don’t they know who you are?!

There's an interesting little rabbit hole. Established bands who have been obliged to change their names, at least in part, because America.

The Beat (UK)
Flowers (Aus)
Shihad (NZ)

Squeeze -> UK Squeeze

Other Aussies as well but in a world context not sure they rate as established ‘enough’.

Sherbet -> Highway ( but maybe that was to toughen the image lol )

Finch -> Contraband
