What were you after, and what did you do?
I was after a more vintage tone/look

before..

after....76(?) buckers (which needed a new PG due to the narrower pups)...back to three point...all chrome h/w..

I understand the aesthetics, but what did you want to change about the sound?
the 2013 buckers sound too bright (modern) for me, almost as if they are going through a preamp. although very meaty, way too in your face for my taste...the 76s are way more mellow (less 2k high mids) but retain the huge bottom end. with adequate EQ they can be made to sound piano like..
also, the hi mass Hipshot exacerbates this modern high sustain, bright mode so I went back to a three point..
I let the SVT do the work..

I swear I feel like the only one who's perfectly happy with the stock TB+ in my 2013.

You're not the only one who feels that way.
I liked mine well enough, but couldn't turn down the chance at the Lollars that are now in the burst Epi.

I recall Mark @dukeorock posting some clips of his Birds at one point a few thousand pages back, one had the stock pickups and I thought it sounded great.

Cool. I still picture the RNR with dull, aged nickel hardware. How is accomplish that is another story.

That's really interesting, just goes to show we all hear things differently.
I thought they were a bit dark sounding.

Thanks y'all, I'm not sure what I'm more excited about, the T5 or playing in a Hard Rock band again (especially at my age), the rest of the band is late 30's to early 40's)! Already ordered a 4" white/white Italia strap for it.

Ha!!!, age is of no importance, well, maybe to some.
Be equally excited about both and rock it hard!!!!!!!!!
