Random... Going to see these guys Friday. Super stoked! I wish I would have seen Doors of the 21st Century when Ian (lead of The Cult) toured with a few of The Doors. Anyone here catch that show?
[QUOTE="Gaolee, post: 22620678, member: 162114"]I dunno. It might be hard to find rhymes for medical device, Hank the Cat, tube, or abdomen. It might not scan well either. Best to stick to trains, trucks, Mama, prison, rain, and getting drunk.
Actually, now might be a great time to write some really neat drug and pain induced songs.
Kind of in a Country Western Prog style.![]()
The Duke Drainage Blues
Tube hangin out my belly,
I'm hangin with Hank the cat,
I want him to feel my pain,
But Hank don't give a crap.
What are we talking about?Yeah, it was a lefty is all. I wonder if @wolfkeller would be interested... you guys are the only lefties I see around regularly.

Apparently my habit of trying to post from my phone while out and about, (waiting for my wife and/or kid) results in mixed up fragmented postsYou should buy it and remove the offending bit of metal. The metal looks like a hazard, you know, if you were to do windmills or something...
But most important. You Should Buy It!

. @TBird1958 We need a windmill emoji!Santa Clarita Diet - nice 'bite' sized chunks ~40min each.
2018 Heritage Cherry Thunderbird IIRCWhat are we talking about?
So slide me some morphing Jean,
I really wanna slip.
Gotta gig I can't play,
With this damn bag on my hip.
Hangin with Hank,
Is startin to wear thin.
Missing gigs with my bros,
while this tube is still in.
Can't slap the upright,
or even the Bird.
My doc says no,
I think he's a turd.
So slide me some morphing Jean,
I really wanna slip.
Gotta gig I can't play,
With this damn bag on my hip.
I'll be better soon,
says the turd of a doc.
Be able to gig,
and run like a clock.
Just bummin for now,
with a pain in my side.
Let's can the bag,
and get off of this ride.
So slide me some morphing Jean,
I really wanna slip.
Gotta gig I can't play,
With this bag on my hip.

My song writing prowess has been known to bring many people to tears.
Ya ought to hear my singing and playing!
I've noticed when I take requests while performing, everyone wants me to play a tune I don't even know. They all want me to play "Far Far Away".![]()
Much appreciated! A few years ago I might have grabbed it, but I think we're now into a third model year of left-handed Thunderbirds, so need be, I think it should be relatively easy to find another. A NYC apartment can only hold so much.Yeah, it was a lefty is all. I wonder if @wolfkeller would be interested... you guys are the only lefties I see around regularly.

I just got a response from Epiphone asking about left-handed models.I spent a little time perusing the L&M website this morning. I see new Gibson guitars and basses are in stock now. As I suspected they would do, they have moved some Gibsons (the DC LP ones) down to the same price range as the expensive Epiphones. Almost like Gibson/Epiphone have a coherent product and brand strategy in place now... It will take some time, but things are looking up for both brands.
Roger kindly posted a link to a used Cherry lefty Thunderbird for sale. What are we talking about?
There were at least 12 brand new Gibson guitars in the Richmond store yesterday...and a Thunderbird. Hmmm, I should pop into the Vancouver storeI spent a little time perusing the L&M website this morning. I see new Gibson guitars and basses are in stock now. I've never made it past 10 bar blues. After that 10th bar I pass out on the sidewalk.OK, fixed the weird quoting thing.
I can only put together 12 bar blues because it is a form I understand. And I sound like an 85 year old blues man if I try to sing.

I saw them a couple of years ago and they were still great as ever. Ironically, the worst I ever saw them was in 1989 opening for Metallica. Lately I've been listening to the eponymous album and it really holds up. Very solid album.
I just got a response from Epiphone asking about left-handed models.
"Thanks for the email. There are no plans to offer the Epiphone bass models in a left hand configuration at this time. However, I will be happy to forward your request to the appropriate parties. Thanks again!"
One thing I remember watching a rig rundown with Billy Duffy was that he uses all Boss pedals. They're tanks, and if one goes bad it's easy to find a replacement anywhere, unlike boutique pedals.Back in the day, I grabbed all the weird remixes that they put out. I was happy to be able to find them on Spotify so they have been added to the song of the moment mix. I do like their straightforward 3 chord rock format; it is far more flexible than some realize. I have seen them come up regularly for shows and sooner or later, I will make it to one of them. But for the moment, they are touring and in no immediate danger of dying so the priority goes to acts that may not be around again (still disappointed in myself that I never got round to seeing Lemmy).
Good idea. You could also help a brother out here. ;-)Open a few more email accounts and make similar requests from all of them and maybe they will see substantial demand...
