Indeed. If there is a happy ending, the invoice should be at least $100

And a beer is nice. Recognizing the expense and difficulty of getting beer halfway round the world, I'll just have one out of the fridge and say it is from you. Don't say I never do anything for you...
Now I know why the beer tasted so good last night. Thanks, Kat!

Vet here.
I want to remind everyone that Memorial Day is not national BBQ weekend.
Lots of folks fought and died for our freedom.
Please take a moment of reflection for all those who paid it all for the USA and its interests. It's only for those efforts and sacrifices that we have the freedoms we enjoy in this great country.

If you know one, thank and reflect with a gold star family this weekend.
Don't thank a vet this weekend - thank a vet on Veteran's Day.

With respect, it gets a little old when we're constantly reminded to 'support the troops.' Many think the best way to do that is to stop sending them to never ending wars.
To be fair, most folks don't know how to support troops. As a vet, I can assure you that the best way to support the troops is to keep enjoying life in the USA.

I love TI flats on my Hofner, but never tried em on a 34” scale bass. The (many) reports of em being floppy kinda scared me off and I don’t play with a light touch...would like to try em on a 34” scale bass at some point though

I can be the voice of dissension here, I tried TI Flats on my '89 after reading all the hype when they first came out, ugh. Did not like them, they were floppy ( I don't play with a light touch) and the tactile sensation on my beautifully calloused fingertips was unnervingly bad. They utterly destroyed The Big Angry Piano tone I love, oh, and they sound bad with a pick too. #LovingMyRounds

I know they work for some of you, so this is not a criticism, just my lame opinion. :)

It wasn't like that in the early days of cell-phones ... junk calls abound anymore.
The odd thing is that I have been getting fewer junk robocalls lately. I used to ask for a billing address when a human was on the other end of the line - they were using my time and I expected to get paid for it, otherwise it was theft. That was entertaining. Robocalls just get hung up on. Maybe somebody, somewhere, is beginning to nail the perpetrators, but I don't know how exactly. This may be famous last words, too. Or maybe I'm so numb to it that I don't even notice.

I've used GHS Precision flats and LaBella Deep Talkin' flats on full scale basses and like them both. They are the opposite of 'floppy', being of tighter feel than rounds of the same gauge. Also have them on my short scale Teisco Del Rey bass (unknown brand) and they rock a Motown sound and are very comfy feel-wise. Lastly, I also use LaBella's on a full scale hollowbody to great effect. Sounds great with a pick and palm muting.

Your opinion is the only one you got, so it’s all good! I love rounds and flats. Just depends on what I’m doing and what kind of sound seems to fit best in the situation. My ‘02 Gibson ‘Bird has Cobalt flats on it. They sound fantastic when I’m playing with Derek Hoke or Eskimo Brothers. I’ve used that setup a lot on sessions and really enjoyed it. When I’m playing or recording more aggressive music I tend to prefer rounds. Ken Smith BassBurners on my Cataldo sounds awesome to me, for what I like. My Drake bass always sports roundwound strings, though it does sound good with flats. My Gretsch bass always runs flats. Black Beauties on there now, but not for long. It’s gonna switch back to Coballts. EB3 gets rounds. MusicMan Sabre has been getting rounds so far. My Hofner has TI flats and I love em on that bass, but you really need to play with a light touch on that bass anyway.

As a veteran, I post this each year as a reminder to my friends and colleagues that wish me "Happy something to do with the armed forces... I think... Day"

I don't answer unknown numbers on my cell. On the landline, I'll sometimes answer-if I wanna-and if I get a real person trying to get $ from me, I keep a conch shell by the phone. And I know how to use it.:smug:
