Thunderbird Club

A sibling of the bike that changed history.

More like an evolution. Changed steering geometry and stiffer frame for better handling, rear disc for braking, 4 into one exhaust (this is not the stock one though period correct), sleeker tank, etc.

I now have a bass storage area which isn't the floor.

Ok, then a game-changer. The term "Superbike" was invented for that bike. For a few reasons, I'm a Honda person and have only owned Honda's. My all time favorite, which inspired the VFR, was the late 80's-early 90's RC-30. Will never own one - but am a devoted VFR rider as my accessible link to it. It was a 750, and before owning my 800 Interceptor I had the '86 VF500 and a '93 VFR750F Interceptor. Only a late 90's Guzzi Daytona GS could tempt me away from owning one. The new technology hardware is impressive - but to me there isn't anything sexier than these two.

The Guzzi is a farm tractor compared to the RC30, but it's a pure Italian long-legged 1200cc road machine and it's exhaust note is to die for.

You appear to have found favor! :D

But next to the mods shoes?, and i thought space was at a premium here!

Congratulations! What did you convince the mod to move?

But far more important... It looks like there is room for 3 more cases there. So go shopping!

Bought a couple of plastic underbed storage boxes from Ikea. All the CDs in the wardrobe have moved under the bed. The cat boxes have moved to the wardrobe. I asked for the book cases to be moved 2cm and he moved them 30cm. I shouldn't complain ... more like room for 2 cases. I have enough Thunderbirds.

He's going to get another couple of Ikea boxes for the DVDs ... to make room for more shoes. Swings and roundabouts.

A vintage shot of trail riding with the Suzi in the Colorado Rockies, I think the photo was taken about 1970...

...fun times.
Sweet! We hauled bikes every summer to the campground at Lake Hume in Sequoia Nat’l Park and rode the fire service roads. I forgot to mention, we had a newer Suzuki 120 that had the tranny with the switch for trail to road gearing. Downside was it was a three speed. On mine, you had to move sprockets, but it was a four. Saw my first bear riding one summer. I was like twelve. Good times!

Cheap 'Bird alert. Guitar Center in Seattle has what appears to be a Classic Pro with Hipshot tuners and bridge for $150. It is light and sounds good unplugged. The wood grain is odd, buy mostly irrelevant because it is dark burst. No truss rod cover and some dings in the finish, but for the price it is a steal. I need another bass like a hole in the head, but it was still tough to pass up. Putting it out there in case anybody around here is looking for a good one for cheap. With the odd grain, it would be a good refin candidate.
Day late and a dollar short. Went to find it, but struck out. Thought I’d get it shipped down here and keep it if the neck was good and try my hand at a Re-Ranch refin in Pelham Blue. Hope someone here got it...
