Yikes! Reminds me of the time I set up a late night practice rig in our first apartment. I got a 4 ohm power resisistor and hooked it up to the speaker out of my Peavey Centurian, kept the master down and ran the line out into my tape deck. It sounded great, but the resistor melted into the carpet...

I started playing only 3 years ago (my brother says it was a mid-life thing). It was a combination of things, but I like to learn new things and at that point I decided that since all my education is in hard sciences, I really should learn music. And I kind of wish that when I was younger, someone had given me a little push to learn (lots of factors there too). So, not wanting to repeat "mistakes" through generations, I have given my daughter the gentlest of nudges - but once every couple of months we discuss if she wants to continue.
It’s a delicate balance trying to encourage a child to put in the practice time. If they don’t want to do it, forcing them will probably not work.
My daughter took piano lessons for several years, and then dropped out when she started playing electric bass in elementary school. Now she’s taking double bass lessons and piano/theory, because she wants to be a music teacher.

I asked my daughter if I could record her recital. She asked me not to and I respected her request.
Next time get someone else to do it and don't tell her.
Parents have to be a little sneaky...
But I get it. They deserve your respect. Lol, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

(I'm sorry!)

so true, but if I could count the times I've heard "my dad (or mom or whoever) tried teaching me and I so wish I would have kept at it"...

ironic part of that story is that you could have run the Centurion without a load..:smug:

I played outdoors last week and had to wear gloves. This weekend is sunny and warm.

Another chilly, windy bicycle ride today... June 2nd. Yesterday the Golden Gate Bridge was completely enveloped in fog.

Things got better yesterday.........
Our show was local and thus once we arrived I noted that one of the preceding bands was using their own bass rig - So, we turned around and picked up the SWR /GK, thus you have a Happy Queen.

Yeah, I was hoping my brother or someone would do a video and send it to me. Unfortunately, everyone was in the moment. That's Ok; everyone was in the moment.

Blue is the best flavour Gatorade.

I like the strap on the orange bird.
