Thunderbird Club

I have years and years ago, but it didn't help....
Oh, come on guys! My tastes are as eclectic as they come. I pretty much like and listen to everything. Neil is one of the most important artists in music. If you saw his show with Crazy Horse that I went to last year, you would agree (grudgingly, but you would). If I’m still rocking as hard as he is at 73, I will have lived a full and complete life.

The singer is my daughter, drummer is the son of the drummer in my cover band, the guitarist by the Marauder is my daughter’s ex (there is dramao_O), the kid with the Les Paul is an excellent guitarist my daughter met through orchestra, and the bass player used to play in a band with my daughter, but moved to Kamloops a few years ago.
I’ve been playing bass most rehearsals, but they have a gig tonight, so Reine came down for a few practices. There was no point letting her play her Squier Pbass with a perfectly good Tbird right there...

So cool! Now finish your brickwork.

it's confirmed all original as is the ohc...comes from a good trusted source and had it checked out by my guy...may need some wiring repair..

A common needed repair/replacement would be the original jack. My '66 P had this done, primarily because the original wore-out/got sloppy from constant professional use. Basses that are used get maintained/repaired being players. Fret-jobs are another common needed repair. As long as they are done correctly - they retain their worth. Maybe not "collector worth", but honest maintained player worth. (I find the later much more valuable)

What did she think of the Thunderbird?

Thanks, I’m lucky to have a music room. Unfortunately playing music doesn’t generate steady income like my day job, so there’s usually 12 to 13 hours of stuff to do between waking and playing:confused:
Funny how that works. Actually, not funny, but still a fact. My son is living the dream, such that it is, playing trumpet ant other things in LA. When he visits, he looks around the house and I can see the wheels turning a bit. A day job pays for a pretty nice music room.

So many basses, so little time. I’ve got a GAS list a mile long. But TBH, I could and should stop . Although there are many I want, I could see stopping with the acquisition of a NR.
Even though I have my 67 NR, I'd be very interested in the(hoped for)Epi VP NR*, partially so I could stop risking the 67 each time I take it outta the house.
* maybe Inverness green?

Holes plugged. First time I’ve done that. Not beautiful but it’s under the bridge. I used Elmer’s Glue-All in the holes but the dowels were a pretty snug fit. Tapped them in with a light hammer and soft wood block.

Positioned the bridge, drilled new holes, installed bridge. Much better positioning- and the B isn’t quiet garbage noise like before.

I still haven’t decided whether I will keep it active; I need some time playing with the band before I decide.
Also, the battery door latch is crap.

But still, you have a piece of heaven at home! MANY of us didn't have that GIFT (Ask around!)
One interesting thing about heaven and hell is that when we're there we can't even tell! so E N J O Y it! :)

Hi Miles: I have the Pro-IV and had thought the bridge was the same as the fiver. Mine is a '13. Do you have a pic of the old bridge? Sorry if I missed previous post with explanation.

I like my active - raw and powerful, mids all the way - but I'm always considering the Bartolini pups and going non active.

Had a drummer come in today for an audition. Oir guitarist was struck down with some lurgie but we soldiered on without her. He was very nice about my playing and wants to come back for a go with the guitarist.

I'd forgotten what it's like to play with a proper drummer. He's really good. Really loud. Overplayed a bit because he's trying to impress us, but he was actually following my dynamics which is excellent. Fingers crossed.
