Thunderbird Club

Happy 4th to our US brothers and sisters!

Yeah, there's Red, White and Blue in that pic of mostly US made basses.

A few days ago I started on some new blood pressure medication that can make me a bit light headed sometimes. This morning I was rockin the 2015 when I got an odd dizzy off balance feeling, like losing my equilibrium. Had to brace myself to keep from falling. Was thinking, no way I'm staying on these meds, just too dangerous. Then I noticed all the hanging basses in the room were swaying side to side. Turned out to be an exceptionally long lasting slow rolling 6.4 earthquake. No where near where I live but felt all over SoCal. No damage here, just some rockin and rolling with the birds.
Sometimes the earth moves when I play my 2013 Epi...

No bass content but... I have long loved Vintage Guitar's interviews. I always learn stuff, and they're just fun. I had no idea that Rick Derringer was in the McCoys, got his start with "Hang on, Sloopy", and then toured as the Stones' opening act! Or that he did so much studio work, such as "Total Eclipse of the Heart". Seems like a cool guy.

Would like to build my own version of a non reverse thunderbird. Been checking the usual places for a body and haven't been able to find a non reverse Tbird body.
This will be my first build so I am looking for something less expensive. I will probably beat the crap our of it and have to re-do things several times to get them right. This will be more of a learning experience than an attempt to build a boutique bass. I will be happy if I can finish the bass and get it to work.
Would prefer just an unfinished body.
Anyone know of a source?

I've seen a non-reverse shaped body for sale from a guitar parts place. I don't recall where but try googling it- that's how I found it. IIRC, it wasn't mahogany, though.

Im not a stylish dude or a rockstar but, I dig your hair, style and am envious of your bass collection. You're like a female nikki sixx, rockabilly, goth punk. I mean that in the best way possible.

Well thank you, good Sir :)

Went to NH for a couple days, had to get one in before the young'uns fly the coop. (We brought them, in other words!)

Now you’ve gone and done it. One of the greatest vids ever.

This might be the one that @GonePlaid mentioned?? You can choose a variety of pickup options with these. Good luck with the project!!

~30 minutes into rehearsal this evening, the drummer stopped playing and said 'I think you need a different drummer' and walked out. He was weird from the beginning tonight. Woulda been better if he'd cancelled, cos then I woulda loaded some drum tracks on my new toy.

Fvcking drvmmers...

That sucks! (the drummer).
Some discussion would have been the adult thing to do.

Time to consider:
BeatBuddy - Drum Machine Pedal
Alesis - SR-18 - 24 Bit Stereo Drum Machine

We've decided he was probably a serial killer and it was for the best really....

And drum machines are rarely murders of any sub-genre.
