I am not a number. I am FREEBIRD!
It's Florida. Keep that in mind.Just get in the other side!
Actually the knobs work better for me like that, good for doing "volume swells" it's also more comfortable & balanced while sitting. Another unexpected benefit is the distance between the nut & tuning heads is now longer for the lower strings which seems to add a bit more sustain, again I'm down right enlightened...it's the BEST tone EVER & certainly lives up to her name in regards to THUNDER!!But your knobs are in the wrong place.
Ahem.
Elderly Instruments. My last experience with them was very positive, they helped me with an Ampeg SSUB bass I found locally that had been through several garage/spraycan mods. Turns out it was totally salvageable. Not a “Thunder”bird, but pretty damn cool IMO.
My late friend’s brother texted last night to ask if I’d help him authenticate and come up with a value for this:

Apparently he took it to a luthier a few years ago, the guy checked the pot codes, offered him a large sum and told him others would probably pay more.
This spooked buddy, so he just held onto it. Now he wants to put it on consignment.
He’ll bring it over and I’ll take some high res pics. Please pass on any links you think might be helpful for researching it.
