We're going on a trip!

These two are my choices for a trip out to Sequim, WA tomorrow (Sat. night show) , they'll both go nicely against my black w/ red cherries June Cleaver dress.

Thunderbird>GK>SWR is all the signal chain I need.

Give Seven Cedars my regards!

Another friend just sent me info he has on it where it’s called a 65 NR Firebird 3. It was purchased in 94 for $1200

Who called it that? Everything I have seen (admittedly less on NRs than standards) used the same numbering as the standards.
I - 1 pickup
III - 2 pickups
V - 2 pickups, whammy (Lyre vibrola tailpiece)
VII - 3 pickups, same whammy

Exact pickups varied.

If it were a late model, numbers could be anything. Gibson even used II on a later model Firebird. But the early models weren’t “NR”- they were just those years’ Firebirds.

Whatever it’s called, it’s beautiful! I’d love to get my hands on one, just to play.

A good place to get an idea of present worth is the Vintage Guitar Price Guide- they do a new one each year.

Thanks for the heads up!
The 3 was from the late owner’s list.
Agreed, I’ll be happy to have a chance to play it a bit, take off the control cover and take a bunch of pictures.
Another cool guitar this guy had was a late 60s SG custom. It was factory routed for 3 pickups, but only had 2. I could have tried to buy it, but I don’t play guitar enough to justify one that is worth more than any of my basseso_O

Not a “Thunder”bird, but pretty damn cool IMO.
My late friend’s brother texted last night to ask if I’d help him authenticate and come up with a value for this:

Apparently he took it to a luthier a few years ago, the guy checked the pot codes, offered him a large sum and told him others would probably pay more.
This spooked buddy, so he just held onto it. Now he wants to put it on consignment.
He’ll bring it over and I’ll take some high res pics. Please pass on any links you think might be helpful for researching it.
Nice. Don't think I ever saw one like this.

+1 On Elderlys. Nice folks in my one experience.
