The Subie, doing what it does best. I'll check in over the weekend

Something I'd quite forgotten, from a show at the now long bulldozed Funhouse (Super Creepy Giant Clown on the marquee), the bass is a little low in the mix, but we're having a good time.
Carry On!
11:30 Friday night in London. Spent today meandering around. Man, getting here is tough, especially from California. I hate flying. Tomorrow we’re going to Maltby Market, Abbey Road (yeah, I know it’s just a street) and St. Paul’s. Rained on and off all day. Didn’t matter, it’s fun being here.Enjoy! I love the UK. I could live there for a while.

I use chemical solutions for jet lag.Good move staying up! Being exhausted when you go to bed the first night is a big help in adjusting to the new TZ. Have fun.
Who called it that? Everything I have seen (admittedly less on NRs than standards) used the same numbering as the standards.
I - 1 pickup
III - 2 pickups
V - 2 pickups, whammy (Lyre vibrola tailpiece)
VII - 3 pickups, same whammy
Exact pickups varied.
If it were a late model, numbers could be anything. Gibson even used II on a later model Firebird. But the early models weren’t “NR”- they were just those years’ Firebirds.
Whatever it’s called, it’s beautiful! I’d love to get my hands on one, just to play.
A good place to get an idea of present worth is the Vintage Guitar Price Guide- they do a new one each year.
Page from '66 Gibson catalog showing that year's III, V, and VIISo it turns out the one with 2 or 3 P90s is a III, but if it has 3 humbuckers, it’s a V:

That’s what I was expecting but apparently installing the p90s broke Roman numerals.Page from '66 Gibson catalog showing that year's III, IV, and VII

Weird.

At least as logical as the NNR numbering. Possibly more. There was also a 2 P90 NR called the Firebird I in that catalogue.
I.....NR 2 x P90
III...NR 3 x P90
V.....NR 2 x FB humbucker
VII..NR 3 x FB humbucker
That's beginning to look logical...
Technically wouldn't it be P-XCs broke the system? That’s what I was expecting but apparently installing the p90s broke Roman numerals.
That's some art I can appreciate! Don't know how you did it, but it's super cool.Thunderbird Thursday
